Tom Cruise May Voice Villain In Shrek 4

Rumors have begun to bubble up from the depths that Tom Cruise may voice a villain in Shrek 4. We get the saucy scoop from our friends at cinemablend:
Tonight I got an email from one of our regular sources at DreamWorks, whispering in my ear to let you know that Tom Cruise is being considered to voice one of the villains in Shrek Goes Fourth. The sequel is due out in 2010 and this time it’s being directed by Mike Mitchell, who is rumored to be something of a Tom Cruise fan.
Since Cruise’s cameo in Tropic Thunder, everyone has wanted the man to sign on for more comedy. Voicing a character for Shrek 4 isn’t what I had in mind however, because Shrek sucks, and has been played out at 3. Although the franchise may still continue to rake in money, the last film was pure garbage and I cannot see things improving from here.
Kudos to Cruise for wanting to continue on the comedy train – but I cannot get behind big name actors doing voice-work. I think his time would be better suited acting in a film, and best that he leave the voice acting to those that dedicate their lives to it.

I agree that Shrek 3 really was pretty awfull compared to the previous movies and as you say the series has been played and doesn’t need any more movies.
So I don’t really think it matters who ends up in it, the Shrek franchise is done.
I kinda agree with Doug about letting the “professional” voice actors do animated movies. It wont affect the movie much, if its a quality movie. Even if the fourth one is shit, heard they would finish the franchise with a fifth one .
I HATED Shrek 3, but the Shrek Xmas special that was made AFTER that movie, was actually really good and the funniest one in the series.
They should have stopped at 1. The first one was perfect. But hey, Maybe Cruise will make 4 worth seeing. I don’t know.
we in India actually watch the dubbed version of many hollywood movies … so it doesnt matter to us wheather Tom Cruise May Voice Villain In Shrek 4 or not
Shrek The Third is awful. But maybe Cruise will make the fourth better. Still I won’t watching it in theater.
