According to Latino Review Schwarzenegger was on hand to do voice work and allow the special effects team to capture his mug. They plan to superimpose his face on Kickinger.
At least the film will be a big break for Kickinger’s torso.

I know there is another “Terminator” in the first movie, but he was in it for 2 seconds. We never really get a good shot of his face.
I’m not old enough to know, but I was told that the original movie was a slow start because Arnold was not known for his acting, just body building, but after the first was became successful, he became one of the biggest actors in Hollywood. Then he came back for the second and third. Schwarzenegger made this franchise what it is, so it only makes sense that he at least make a cameo in the 4th movie.
Robert Patrick and Kristanna Loken were also “Terminators,” but they were nowhere near as popular as Arnie. He may not have been the only Terminator, but he is the only one fans remember when the movie title comes up.
I mean,come on. Christian Bale is the 4th person to play John Connor. The guy from the beginning of the 2nd one (I couldn’t tell you who he was) ran around and didn’t show his face. Edward Furlong played the teenage version. Nick Stahl played the character when John was a bit older than he was in the 2nd movie. There has to be some kind of stable character.
As much as I would’ve liked Arnold to play the Terminator, it won’t happen. There is a new guy that is supposedly playing the T-800, the same series number as Arnold’s Terminator. I read about this a little, and this Terminator could be a different model number. Arnold was the Cyberdyne Systems Series 800 Model 101, but this new guy could be the Cyberdyne Systems Series 800 Model 102 or something like that. Either way, this guy looks to be as big as Arnold was in his prime, and he looks like him a little. If they play it right, this new guy can pull off Arnold’s role.
Needless to say, I am anxious to see how this will turn out.

In the tv show he’s born the same day the bombs fall, and now has a brother.
The tv show is fun to watch, but it walks all over Terminator canon….
Imma have to disagree with u 790….The Sarah Connor Chronicles is awesome….it doesnt crap on the canon just the third movie….and hell i dont think that the new movie will even recognized the third movie as well

The second T-1000 was deployed in the field late in the battle, and then returned to Skynet, when it lost the Skynet signal.
The resistance didn’t have any dogs there,,,,,

@790: I forgot again: I agree; I’m afraid that McG will screw this up (again) :( even though it’s probably good scripts. I’m not sure who would write the best Terminator scripts, but I’m guessing James Cameron. Even though I think that the TV-show is much better than Terminator 3, and some great moments are good enough to be compared to great moments in Terminator 2 and 1!

mattiac the sarah conner chronicles has nothing to do with the storyline in the real terminator series….ass 790 there are plenty of story that even arnie has commented on in the dark horse series…u can get em in a torrent under aliens vs predator…alas predator fights termiator etc…but any ways the guy who made the torrent added the terminator series and i have to say that idk why sarah chronicles is even allowed to be on the air…but ya they are smart to handle arnies face like they are doing…its kinda important for the next 3 movies as im pretty sure when they get a hold of the unit john will reprogram it for sending back, and as a huge fan of the storyline i can say that im pretty sure Mc G is handling this storyboard well…meaning he is communicating with dark horse people,arnie,cameron,etc all the people who have a love for what is allready set on the table…..im hoping for the best and i think it will be great.
ps there is no way that kickinger would accept the role with out knowing they where going to do this….its kinda mandatory….arnies face is the face of the terminator in the storyline

It would be great to have Arnie in the upcoming movies. I wish that he would also make a cameo in The Sarah Connor Chronicles! But my favorite terminator is Cameron from the TV-show. Especially in a certain moment in the first episode of season 2. She (the terminator) totally owns my heart! It was so unexpected (because I think that she really meant what she said to John about love) and very touching! I’m gonna buy the show on DVD! Import it if it don’t gets released with Swedish subtitles (not that I really need them) here in Sweden. No season nor summer can compare to the inner and outer beauty of Summer Glau! <3
Even though the redhead in the first episode of the second season of The Sarah Connor Chronicles is hot! What makes her even more sexier is her Scottish accent which I really love (the Irish is sexy as well).
@Total Jiu Jitsu: I agree with you. I also remember another Terminator in the first movie (I remember because I bought the movie and checked out the extras quite recently) and it was in a flashback from the future. He had a type of plasma/energy weapon.

i’m actually okay with an arnie “cameo” hopefully it’s at the end of the movie to kind of tie the latest movie to the early ones. there are other terminators that don’t look like arnie and i’m not talking about the ones on the tv show. I remember the first movie, another body builder was a terminator, it was franco columbu. so please people chill out on arnie is the only terminator.

The likeness was taken from a captured resistance fighter.
He was captured and killed by both T-1000’s. They both took on his image.
One was sent to kill John, the other was used to infiltrate the resistance.
Since it looked like one of the boys, it had no prob sneeking in….
The Dark Horse Terminator storyline would be a great film concept.

I have no problem with this although you never know they could show Kickinger’s face as a “prototype” face before the final T-800 is created. T-1000 and T-X were physically different but I wonder if the machines based the looks on an existing human or completely made it up themselves…
Fans have been begging for Schwarzenegger. Now they’ll get him. I don’t see what the problem is. Kickinger was probably told when he auditioned, what the deal would be. Just because this seems spare-of-the-minute to us because we never heard anything on it before-hand, doesn’t mean it was really spare-of-the-minute.
Kickinger probably knew full-well going into it, what the deal was, so don’t go sprouting off ‘This isn’t fair, damn them to hell’ for all this.
