Iron Man 2 filming News

The movie industry moves so fast these days. They are announcing adaptations of novels yet to be published and they are announcing sequels before the first movie is out. With all the positive buzz being validated with teh release of IronMan, news of sequel was not unexpected. Today we get hints about when filming would get underway.

In an article at Military.com talking about Terrence Howard’s character Col. James ‘Rhodey’ Rhodes in Iron Man, the actor revealed that he will begin filming for Iron Man 2 in March of 2009.

With a movie this huge I am always surprised to hear that filming is beginning barely over a year after principal photography was taking place. But then consider that Howard says that HE will begin filming in March next year. This doesn’t mean that there wont be a lot of stuff going on before hand.

Being pretty effects heavy film, those animators need all the time they can get to perfect the scenes.

Also consider that though all of the original cast and Favreau are expected to return, it is not on paper yet. They haven’t even verified a script (please address Demon in a Bottle!!) but the Hollywood Machine soldiers on.

Things will likely fall into place in the next coming months.

its no surprise (at least for me) to see another IRONAM MAN movie this soon.. the first one was a huge blockbuster and my guesses are that theyr making this to eventually coming out with the AVENGERS movie.. there will be no surprise also to see Howard dressing the “War Machine” costume in the next one ;)

    Yes!!! I knew it!

Col. james rhodes isn’t just some side character… (Spoiler) Rember the line when looking at the silver armor “mabey next time” (Spoiler)… This means he might even be or become “WARMACHINE” in the next movie.

Which might even mean they actually will start shooting around march…

Seeing War Machine in the sequel would be awesome. I say bring it on, along with the Mandarin.

  5. Rodney says:

Pleh, the fact that they cast Rhodey in the first movie at all meant they were going to eventually hint at War Machine.

The Demon in a Bottle storyline is tightly tied with War Machine.

true… But what i made up out of your story, was that you wheren’t familiar with the character… + the fact that no one had picked it up, here on tmb, instead everyone did see the cap. america shield… but prehaps, it was to clear, to mention…

  7. Wow nice, I knew and I predicted this!

I cant wait until the 2nd Iron man movie comes out, I hope they don’t over do the effects and remember what made the first film so awesome.

  8. Rodney says:

RealIronMan… Did you predict the sun would come up sometime in the morning too?

  9. Rodney says:

Pleh, I welcome you to use the “search” feature. Ive been reading and collecting comics for about 25 years now, so I was well familiar with the character and his supporting cast.

Way back before the movie was even made when Howard was cast in the role of Rhodey we speculated on whether we would see WarMachine in this or if he was just setting up for the sequels.

  10. pleh says:

    @ Rodney; I’am sorry if i have offended you…

but what i meant to say it that no one is buzzing about rhodey saying maybe next time… prehaps i’am an retard and everyone already realized that warmachine would be in it… but hell ironman is the most know comicbook character…

  11. Rodney says:

    lol@ironman being the “most known”

Maybe to a comic collector. But most people dont know one thing about Ironman.
