First Look at Doomsday Poster
In the same vein as 28 Days/Weeks Later, Doomsday offers a post apocalyptic world devistated by a supervirus. This guarantees lots of zombie-esque gore and hot babes with guns. Ok, 28 didn’t exactly give us the babes thing, that was Resident Evil, but who’s complaining. At least this time we get Rhona Mirta proficiently flexing her feminine form and kicking a little ass.
The first look at the poster comes from MoviesOnline:

MoviesOnline describes it as:
In DOOMSDAY, a lethal virus spreads throughout a major country and kills hundreds of thousands. To contain the newly identified Reaper, the authorities brutally quarantine the country as it succumbs to fear and chaos.
The literal walling-off works for three decades – until Reaper violently resurfaces in a major city. An elite group of specialists, including Eden Sinclair (Ms. Mitra), is urgently dispatched into the still-quarantined country to retrieve a cure by any means necessary. Shut off from the rest of the world, the unit must battle through a landscape that has become a waking nightmare.

She is soooo smoking hot and hopefully this movie doesn’t bomb so that she can get a few more lead roles.

I like this French version.
Makes me wanna french miss Mitra.
I liked her in past roles on film and TV. I even liked her in Beowulf (the Chris Lambert film from the late 90s) …and I do think it is smart to namedrop Neil Marshall in the one sheet, because after ‘Dog Soldiers’ and ‘Descent’, this film is worth checking out.
I think most folks will also find this a surprise film as well.
And from the looks of it, it has this ‘Mad Max’/'Escape From New York/B13′ feel to it. I’m digging it.

She’s a gorgeous woman, but she looks very dude-ish in that pic.

Same vein as 28 days/weeks later, lol, you could be reading the back of their DVD covers with that description.

I’d just like to point out that this will NOT be a zombie-esque movie. The virus in this one simply kills people. No walking undead, no rage virus, just dead. The trouble comes in the fact that they have to enter an area that’s been completely shut off from the world for 30 years, survival of the fittest (and most insane) and the people there aren’t too happy that their jailors are coming in to ask their help.

I want this movie to be good, but I’m little worried about the villian from the trailer. Looks like he could be a tad annoying to me.

Even though it seems to have copied exact scenes out of some of the best action films made (aliens, gladiator, LOTR) and others mad max, Escape from net york and 28 days later…I still enjoyed the film immensely.
I am struggling to think of other hard R acion films that are a decent, fun film to watch in the last few years (suggestions guys? I know there arent loads). I felt like this movie was how they made them in the eighties or summit when action, scale and hhard r ratings went together.
When you go to the cinema your expectations are different for different types of films.E.g
Drama - look for story, quality of acting etc…
Thriller - quality of twists, story
Action - quality of sets, action and above all - - - entertainment
People are complaining about the cars at the end exploding along the A road. it’s obviously unrealistic but it more fun than not exploding…thats just one example.
So yeah, loads of scenes were nicked from other movies (a tribute) but you know what, he’s not hiding that in the movie he’s sharing his favourite scenes in movies with us and giving his take on them.
