Will Al Pacino Be Bond Villain?
Rumors are flying round the net that Mr. Al Pacino may head up the terrorist organization that Bond is trying to hunt down in Quantum Of Solace. We get the scoop from AICN via cinematical:
Here’s part of what the scooper wrote in to AICN: “But the big news that he leaked was that Al Pacino would be taking part in filming. I was a little shocked as the cast has been revealed already, but he said Pacino would play the head of the terrorist group introduced in CASINO ROYALE and QUANTUM OF SOLACE. Al is said to come to Pinewood in April-May to film what is said to be a brief cameo.”
This is still a a rumor but certainly has me thinking. I am trying to picture Pacino as the head of a terrorist organization, I am not sure that I would pick him for that role. I would select a relatively unknown actor just to add to the mystery of the character. You always know Pacino is Pacino and I think that will diminish the “fear factor” of the terrorist leader.
Over at cinematical the boards are pretty negative about this rumor. I am not upset with the news, and although Pacino hasn’t had a killer film in some time; I certainly would not write off his abilities as an actor altogether. Once again this is not confirmed, and if it is true – I wish it would have stayed a secret.

Is he actually going to ACT, or is he going to collect a check? There’s a difference. If it’s the former, then I’m fine with it. If it’s a the latter, then I’m bummed that the producers have resorted to stunt casting to get publicity.
Doug, with that picture, I see another “What is he thinking?” post. For example, “Why in hell did I colour my hair?!?”
I hope he isn’t in it. He is very over rated.
Ths news pisses me off. Not that Pacino may be in the film, but rather this bullshit respose from the int’l friends and those clowns on the Cinematical boards.

What does that mean? It means he’s in the film for a minute or two. Right? That’s essentially what a cameo is.

He’s an actor. Not just any actor, but one of the biggest names a production can get on a payroll. Is that accurate? Help me out here…anyone…jump in…

I am just generally disappointed that they did not bring back Blowfeld. I thought they could have made him the leader of the new terrorist organization.
Not sure why Pacino would want to turn up in a meaningless cameo role. He is still a great actor.

Man i dont know Pacino is that type of actor who puts himself over the role all the time.
So its not a bad thing if you are insanely good like he is,but to go well,depends a lot in what kind of role is playing.
