‘The Lost Boys 3′ in the Works?
Yesterday, Rodney posted some new pictures from the upcoming direct-DVD sequel, ‘The Lost Boys 2: The Tribe‘ from Corey Feldman’s blog. Also in Corey Feldman personal blog, (*note: I can not believe I’m using this as a source by the way) he had recently mentioned that there is already talks about a third film.
Moviehole gives us this excerpt from Feldman’s blog:
“…Also as you know Lost Boys 2 is on the way and from what Warner Bros. is saying it looks great, they are already talking about doing a third…..;) we’ll see! They have also commissioned a 4 issue series of comics that DC comics will be releasing with my image as Edgar Frog, telling the story of what happened between the first and second movie.”.
I am a huge fan of ‘The Lost Boys.’ (It is tied as my vampire movie with ‘Fright Night’) However, I still think the upcoming DTD sequel will bite the big one. I’ll still watch it, and I will most definitely be on the look out for the DC comic mini series when it comes out, (The Frog Brothers would be so proud!) but I have very low expectations.
Well, if there’s talk about the third film already with ‘The Frog Brothers,’ I guess we know who survives the second installment now don’t we?
Unless, they come back as vampires. Now THAT would be something I would want to see.
i’ll definitely check this out for the heck of it. if there’s a third one on the way,then at least one of them is bound to be decent if one goes by other recent vampire-related sequels/prequels that come in threes. in this case i cite From Dusk Till Dawn 3:The Hangman’s Daughter as a worthy prequel. Dusk 2 was a stinking piece of offal for the most part. i also actually enjoyed the Dracula 2000 sequels better than the original (better watched together than separately as 2 leaves you on a cliffhanger). i dug the way they explained away the change in Drac’s appearance (gerard Butler was replaced by Steve Billington) between 2000 & Ascension. but i digress,it cant be that crap if the Frog Bros are in it. the characters were a definite highlight of the original Lost Boys.
The movie was great. Well done. Should have hit the theaters. Can’t wait for the 3rd Lost Boys movie to hit. Anyone who hasn’t had a chance to, should watch this movie.
Totally a good flick. I mean yeah it resembled the first a lot but it was kinda like a remake or an up to date version. You might hate the movie but the ending and alternate endings will leave you wanting a third one. Effects are pretty good to. If you like horror-comedies than I suggest this.
The Lost Boys is perhaps one of the greatest cult films of all time. The sequel was great in many respects but weak in others. As a huge fan of the first film, I enjoyed all the references to the first one. Perhaps one of the funniest was seeing that fat guy with the saxaphone while remembering the same guy in the first flick. Anyway, Feldman was awesome. He’s still holding it down Frogg Bros. style. But what about the rest of the cast? The vampires were dorks and the head vampire came off totally feminine. He did not command any respect at all. To be honest, none of the vampires even came off as scary or powerful like the ones in the first film did. With the exception of Feldman, the cast was weak (bad acting by poorly chosen actors). However, with that being said, the storyline, direction, action, makeup, etc. was all great. The cameo ending with Sam coming back to battle Edgar Frog was great. I can’t wait to find out how will play out. Will there be a three? If you watch the alternate endings you can bet the bank. There is no way they can end The Lost Boys like that. Regardless of whether the story plays out in the comic book, the have to make a three. The ending with Allen in racing down the highway was just too much to leave fans hanging. It looks awesome and already better than the second. So Warner Bros., If you are reading this, you know what you have to do. Props to Feldman

Well it was barely OK . I have watched movies the were a lot worse.
That does not say much .
Feldman did a very good job as Edgar Frog . He was the main reason this film was OK . I loved the first Lost Boys .
Maybe that was the reason I really wanted to see this .
It was pretty much the same story line as the original .
Sibling becomes a half vampire , comes very close to going all the way . Saved by brother and very strange Vampire Slayer .
Hopefully they make a Lost Boys 3 .
Back track a bit and tell us why Sam (Haim) was a Vampire ( if you left it on until the credits rolled through you should know Sam and Edgar got into a throw down . Somewhere between 1 & 2 he changed sides .
Then have Edgar be torn between slaying a Vampire ( aka suck monkey ) or letting his best friend live . Let us know what happened to Alan Frog . There is a great story line for 3 . I guess it’s true that a lot of sequels suck . At least we know a Third would have a better chance to measure up to the first.
I really hope they make Lost Boys 3! The first and second were both awesome and the way the second ended with the “hidden” ending is a PERFECT set up for the 3rd! Bring on Lost Boys 3!! And don’t lose the “Cry little Sister” theme either!
Just finished LB2 …. you know it is not that bad as something Direct To Video could have been. Some lame lines – but you know what there were some clunkers in the original too!
There were a few real scares – and the guy vampires are hot – and Autume Reese (Taylor from The O.C.) does a good job, as do all the leads.
Feldman holds up his Eddie Frog role well …. and the ending with Haim …. it actually makes me want to see Lost Boys 3 just for the fun of it. (Feldman does an Edgar Frog’s Guide to Killing Vampire on the DVD that give the whole thing the right “fun for the fans’ feel to it.

liked part 2 a lot; but we know the two new lead characters are Emersons.. just like Sam.. why didn’t the movie go into that? Edward Frog must have known these 2 are related to Sam… !
What can I say Lost Boys 2 was so amazing i love edgar frog if vampires did exist or maybe they do i would want to be just like him. So all in all Lost Boys 2 amazing and cant wait for them to make a new one.
I posted my review on my website (http://thewritersjourney.wordpress.com), so I won’t repeat it all here. But I will say that I was pleasantly surprised with Lost Boys: The Tribe, and I hope they do make a Lost Boys 3. The alternate endings set up a perfect storyline for a third movie.
If you are going to make a lost boys 3, there should be different kids, they should be younger like 14 or 13 , I mean common little kids going against teenage vampire’s or older vampire’s. edgar is a good actor, but his getting to old to play as a teenager., edgar could be a crazey old guy that tell’s the kids about the vampire’s., and, when the vampire’s kill the normal people leave out the gut’s that is sick. my dad like’s the lost boys but the second he didin’t., if you make the lost boys 3 better put it in the theator’s please , my last word, the lost boy’s should be for kids like the first one., thank you. How about making Edgar and whoever parents with kids and he passes on his skill as a vampire killer – The kids could be young – have a storyline around them. Cut out the swear words, i.e. F_ _ _ , it took away from the story. Those guys were crude and gross. Put alittle more comedy and make the movie a bit longer. PS – S_ _ _ swear word is ok….
I’m sorry but I was very disappointed in The Lost boys 2. The first was great and have watched it many times over the years and it still holds it’s value. They really should’ve catered this to the adults such as myself who grew up with the lost boys in my humble opinion. They could’ve made this huge but dropped the ball with a very poor story and poor characters..stop trying to be “hip” and make a good movie.
i was looking forward to this movie, hopefully someone will buy the rights to it and salvage the franchise, hopefully this attempt at a sequel didn’t put a nail in it’s proverbial coffin..lol

ok. at the end of the tribe cory F. came back and he had gotton bit. then edgars brother, alan frog was on his way back and he was a vampire. WHATS NEXT? there HAS to be a third! they cant end the best movies ever like that. i want more. i want it soon.

Okay… I loved the sax-player too.
And I thought this movie was kind of for adults – or at least recent ones- who loved the movie. I was 2 when it came out and discovered it by 10. Even then it was dated. It’s exciting to see a mixture of sequel and remake in the context of my generation.
By the way, did anyone else notice sexual tension between the brother and sister?
I agree, they should keep with Cry Little Sister even in the third installment.
Who cares if the acting was bad in the second? Let’s not forget Gertz.
Oh yeah, but next time they should use Carfax Abbey’s version of CLS, aside from the super-cool piano part in Aidan’s the former is much better.
So the movie only came out in england yesterday and im getting it today, I think it will be as good or even better than no1
BRING ON LOST BOYS 3
The Lost boys is a historical movie and will forever be rated top Horror Movie in my eyes. The second movie Was a total disappointment because I expected Both cory’s to do some damage. The comic idea is great but still there should be a book to tell fans what happened to Sam, Star, Laddy, Michael, And Alan Frog. Comics are great but not everyone is into them. If there is going to be a third movie I would want to hear some back story about some of these prime characters, Also If both Cory’s are not it It I won’t bother to even see it. My final note on a third movie is MORE GORE!!! the turn to stone thing is gay. I love to watch them melt and explode. Keep it as realistic as possible. The more gore the better. ok well i just bought *the Tribe* the other night and let me tell you i actually enjoyed it! I grew up watching the original and that never gets old. I would really love to see a third come out that explains maybe what happened to the rest of the characters: Ex: why Alan Frog is now a vampire and also what went down with Sam and Edgar… plus what ever became of Star, Micheal, and Laddie. Oh and what wasup with the same last name between key characters? Hmm, im anticipating what will happen next.
max again, my dad bought me the boxset of lost boys last night from hmv and i have to say it is not as good as i expected not worse or better than the 1st but i still think it is an awesome movie for 21 years after and the two coreys are top. and like i said before

lost boys 2 was good but no way as gd as number 1 i hope in number 3 if they do it that they will have corey haim in it as the main character again hes so gd in 1st 1 without corey haim its not as gd

just watched it and thought it was… good. unlike the first one it seemed to lack some of the pop culture charm and i felt that the cinematography was a little lacking-it looked more like seattle on a rainy day rather than California. but i thought it was good and i’d watch it again, but unlike the original which ive lost track of how many times ive seen i probably wouldnt watch it a third time. Feldman (Edgar) would be the only reason i’d watch it again. the alternate endings were well worth the rent and i think a LB3 would be awesome and we can only hope they’ll have a bigger budget. in summary, a great job for what they had to work with.

I loved the 1st movie and thought the 2nd 1 was ok but not good or brilliant. There was only 1 funny line in the 2nd one and yes it was said by edgar of course. His character’s hilarious! the boyish charm’s gone though.
I think the 3rd movie should be based on the frog brothers but bring back david and the rest. It has been said that lost boys 3 would be a prequel, so hopefully the rest will come back!
-We don’t care if they look older! Just use some anti-ageing cream or something, PLEASE!
I really hope it hits the big screen and isnt going straight-to-dvd like some sources say. Lost boys 3 is due to finnish 2010. I found that on a few websites including imdb. I hope it comes out earlier! like this year november-ish. i’d much rather see this than new moon, for my birthday -even though i am a fan of both twilight and lost boys.
Lost boys 3 should be good if the original cast, script writer, director and hilarity are involved. Plus, some of the vamp deaths from the 2nd film, as they were really good and original like some of the 1st film deaths. If you could call the execution of the dead a death.
