JJ Abrams Begins Work On Untitled Supernatural Thriller

JjaIt looks like JJ has already begun to hit the bricks after a successful weekend with Cloverfield. We are made aware of his plans thanks to our friends at moviesonline:

JJ Abrams monster movie Cloverfield destroyed the box office over the weekend and JJ is no fool… hes already begun work on his next as of yet Untitled film. Once again he has tapped a relatively unknown director to helm the project while he sits as Executive Producer. Joshua Marston will direct the project which is being called a Supernatural Thriller.

Not a bad idea to keep the ball rolling when it is moving for you. JJ is wise to keep the hype machine going with another project, Cloverfield was “made on the cheap” at 20 Million and if he can pump out films at this price range – the profit margins are going to be very nice for everyone involved. Although I was not a huge fan of Cloverfield I can appreciate someone taking risks and trying something new. I wonder if he is going to try and be innovative with the supernatural thriller genre or just stick to a more tried and true path this time out.

No word as of yet about; what the title is, what the story will be about, or who will star – but we will be certain to stay on top of the situation.

  1. He’s making his second Clovefield. And i dont mean making a continuation of Cloverfield’s story but he’ll use similar marketing and similar themes, so he’s gonna use the same forumla, of course after giving us the big budget Star Trek.

  2. Well, he is making star trek and it has a huge budget like $ 150 million but yes I agree Cloverfield showed how much you could do in 25 million, I hope he makes low budget quality movies like this as sort of side projects. Hollywood budgets are getting out of hand. It is unbelievable that a movie like ‘The Bucket List’ should cost $45 million
