Legendary Comics Reveals New Publishing Slate at SDCC 2026

Legendary Comics unveiled an exciting slate of upcoming publishing projects during its San Diego Comic-Con 2026 panel. The event, hosted by Legendary Entertainment’s Senior Vice President and Publisher Robert Napton and Executive Director of Publishing Nikita Kannekanti, featured exclusive reveals spanning several major franchises, including Street Fighter, Dune, Pacific Rim, the Monsterverse, and Trick ‘r Treat.

David Dastmalchian Joins Street Fighter Publishing

The panel’s biggest surprise came when David Dastmalchian, who portrays M. Bison in the upcoming Street Fighter feature film from Legendary and Paramount Pictures, made a special appearance. Dastmalchian announced that he is writing the story for M. Bison in the upcoming Street Fighter: The Official Movie Graphic Novel. This original story is set to expand the world of the film and explore the iconic villain through an all-new graphic novel experience.

Legendary also debuted artwork from the graphic novel featuring fan-favorite characters such as Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, Guile, Dhalsim, and Dan Hibiki. Additionally, the studio noted that Street Fighter: The Making of the Movie, published by DK Publishing, is scheduled to arrive on October 20.

Expanding the Dune and Pacific Rim Universes

The publishing slate includes significant expansions for the Dune franchise. The Art and Soul of Dune: Part Three – Legacy Edition is now available for pre-order through Simon and Schuster. Legendary Publishing also previewed The Art and Soul of Dune: Part Three, which features behind-the-scenes imagery, concept art, and production design from director Denis Villeneuve’s highly anticipated film. The standard edition is scheduled for release on December 22, while the Dune Part One and Two Official Movie Graphic Novel Slipcase Edition arrives on October 20.

For fans of the Pacific Rim franchise, the panel confirmed that Pacific Rim: Final Breach Volume Two, written by Stephanie Williams with artwork by EJ Su, will arrive in Q2 2027. This release continues the official story of the movie series following the availability of Volume One.

The panel also highlighted the upcoming Trick ‘r Treat: Witching Hours, an original graphic novel anthology featuring four all-new stories centered on Sam from creator and director Michael Dougherty. The book is set to arrive on September 22, 2026. Furthermore, Legendary continues its work with the estates of Lugosi, Karloff, and Chaney, with Dracula and Frankenstein titles available now and The Phantom of the Opera coming soon. In the Monsterverse, Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong and its sequel are currently available, alongside the Monarch Files: A Monsterverse Manual from Insight Editions.

These announcements demonstrate Legendary’s commitment to building out its cinematic worlds through expanded media, providing fans with deeper lore and behind-the-scenes access to their favorite franchises.
