A sun-drenched destination wedding is about to take a dark turn. Plaion Pictures has announced that the upcoming shark horror film Chum will be available across all major digital platforms in the UK starting August 17.
Directed by Jonathan Zuck, who also co-wrote the script with Joe Leone, the film follows a newlywed couple and their friends during a Mediterranean yacht excursion. Their vacation quickly spirals into a nightmare when they find themselves trapped between a predatory shark and a psychopathic killer on board. The film stars Alice Eve, known for her roles in Star Trek Into Darkness and She is Out of My League, alongside Eric Michael Cole, Elle Haymond, Sarah Siadat, and Jim Klock.
Shark movies have long been a staple of the horror genre, often blending survival thrills with isolated settings. By adding a human antagonist to the mix, Chum aims to raise the stakes beyond the typical creature feature.
