SEGA has officially announced its lineup for Gamescom 2026, confirming that the highly anticipated Alien: Isolation 2 will be available for public hands-on play. The event is scheduled to take place at the Koelnmesse in Cologne from August 26 through August 30.
A First Look at the Sequel
Attendees visiting Hall 7 will have the opportunity to experience the game’s playable prologue. According to the publisher, the booth space has been specifically designed to mirror the claustrophobic and lo-fi aesthetic of the franchise to help immerse players in the game’s tense atmosphere.
While this marks the first public appearance for the sequel, SEGA has not yet disclosed specific details regarding the final title, release date, supported platforms, or broader gameplay mechanics. The original Alien: Isolation, which followed Amanda Ripley aboard the Sevastopol space station, set a high bar for survival horror when it launched in 2014.
What to Expect at Gamescom
Beyond the playable demo, the SEGA booth will feature themed photo opportunities, on-site challenges, and various merchandise giveaways. The company plans to showcase five upcoming titles in total, with each game receiving a dedicated space on the show floor.
For fans of the series, the inclusion of a playable demo suggests that development is progressing, even if the studio remains tight-lipped about a formal release window. More information regarding the publisher’s full presence at the event can be found on the official Gamescom website.
