The journey for our favorite demigods continues as Disney prepares for the highly anticipated return of Percy Jackson and the Olympians. Following an early renewal in March 2025, the series is officially moving forward with its third installment. Fans can mark their calendars, as the new season is set to premiere on November 20 on Disney+.
Adapting The Titan’s Curse
The upcoming season will adapt the third book in the original series by Rick Riordan, titled The Titan’s Curse. This chapter of the story is widely recognized by readers for shifting the tone of the franchise, introducing darker and heavier stakes for the young heroes. A teaser trailer, which debuted at D23 in mid-August, offered a first look at key elements of this new arc, including the Junkyard of the Gods and several prominent deities.
New Faces Join the Cast
The production has confirmed an impressive lineup of new cast members joining the ensemble. Among the notable additions are Olive Abercrombie as Bianca Di Angelo and Levi Chrisopulos as Nico Di Angelo, the children of Hades. The series has also tapped Dafne Keen to portray Artemis, the goddess of the hunt, while Saara Chaudry will step into the role of her lieutenant, Zoë Nightshade. Kate McKinnon has been cast as the goddess of love, Aphrodite, and Ming-Na Wen will appear as Hera.
The casting news continues with Holt McCallany joining as the Titan Atlas, David Costabile as Dr. Thorn, and Jesse L. Martin as Frederick Chase, the mortal father of Annabeth. Additionally, Jennifer Beals will portray Demeter, and Hubert Smielecki will take on the role of Apollo. These new additions join the core cast, which features Walker Scobell as Percy and Leah Sava Jeffries as Annabeth.
Production and Behind the Scenes
Filming for the third season officially commenced in August 2025, following the conclusion of production on the previous season. The creative team remains anchored by executive producers Jonathan E. Steinberg and showrunner Dan Shotz, with author Rick Riordan continuing his involvement as co-creator and executive producer. The series has also seen a notable change in its portrayal of Zeus, with Courtney B. Vance stepping into the role.
The rapid pace of the renewal and the scale of the new casting announcements highlight the continued investment in this adaptation. By bringing in such a diverse group of actors to fill the roles of the Olympians and their allies, the production is clearly aiming to capture the expanded scope of the source material. As the November premiere approaches, the anticipation for how these new characters will integrate into the established world of Camp Half-Blood continues to grow.
