A New Look at In the Clear Moonlit Dusk
The official website for the upcoming live-action film adaptation of In the Clear Moonlit Dusk has released a new trailer. The film, based on the romance manga by Mika Yamamori, is currently scheduled for a theatrical release in Japan on October 23, 2026.
The latest footage highlights the film’s theme song, Moonlit, performed by the boy band Naniwa Danshi. Band member Shunsuke Michieda stars in the production as Kohaku Ichimura, one of the story’s two central characters. Michieda noted that the track was crafted to reflect the heartache and excitement found within the narrative.
Production and Cast Details
Kentaro Tanimura, known for his work on the Trillion Game live-action drama, is directing the film. The screenplay was written by Yuichi Tokunaga, who also penned the live-action adaptation of Cells at Work. Alongside Michieda, the cast features Seira Anzai as the heroine Yoi Takiguchi, with Rintaro Mizusawa, Yumena Hoshino, Sayu Suzukawa, Takato Okura, and Tatsumi Asa rounding out the ensemble.
The original manga has been serialized in Kodansha’s Dessert magazine since 2020. Fans of the franchise recently saw the story adapted into a 12-episode TV anime, which aired earlier this year. While the live-action film prepares for its theatrical debut, the anime series remains available for streaming on Crunchyroll in various regions worldwide.
This adaptation brings a fresh perspective to the popular story of two high school students, both nicknamed Princes, as they navigate the complexities of a budding relationship. The inclusion of a high-profile theme song from Naniwa Danshi suggests the studio is looking to build significant momentum leading into the fall release.
