Kagurabachi Anime Casts Katsuyuki Konishi and Confirms Crunchyroll Simulcast

The upcoming anime adaptation of the hit Weekly Shonen Jump series Kagurabachi has shared major updates ahead of its scheduled April 2027 premiere. Shochiku Co., Ltd. announced new casting details, confirmed streaming plans, and expanded the project’s promotional world tour.

Katsuyuki Konishi has been cast as the character Togo Shiba. Konishi is well known for his voice work in popular series such as Demon Slayer and Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. The announcement also included the release of a new character visual and a dedicated trailer for Shiba.

In addition to the casting news, the studio confirmed that the series will be available to stream worldwide on Crunchyroll, excluding select Asian territories. This simulcast confirmation ensures that international fans will have access to the series as it airs.

The production team is also expanding the Kagurabachi Anime World Tour. An additional premiere screening stop has been added to the schedule at Otakon in Washington, D.C. Furthermore, the team revealed details for an upcoming event at Anime NYC on Saturday, August 22, which will feature a panel with producers Koichi Yasuda and Kenta Suzuki.

Why This Matters for Fans

The confirmation of a worldwide simulcast on a major platform like Crunchyroll is a significant win for the series. Given the massive global interest in Takeru Hokazono’s original manga, securing a broad distribution deal early in the production cycle helps build momentum. The inclusion of veteran voice talent like Konishi further signals the studio’s commitment to delivering a high-quality adaptation that honors the source material.

Fans can find more details regarding the world tour and upcoming events on the official Kagurabachi Anime World Tour website. The original manga is currently available to readers in English through Viz Media and MANGA Plus by SHUEISHA.
