Fans of Genndy Tartakovsky have another animated project to anticipate. The legendary creator has officially secured a series order from Adult Swim for his latest original show, Heist Brothers, a project that was previously known under the working title Heist Safari.
The path to this series order began last year when Tartakovsky pitched the concept directly to Adult Swim President Michael Ouweleen during a live presentation at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival. The unconventional pitch successfully moved the project from development into a full series order.
This new project continues Tartakovsky’s streak of high-energy animation. The series is described as a high-octane animated action comedy that follows three frog brothers who attempt to rob a bank. While the premise sounds straightforward, the official logline promises that the execution will be anything but simple.
Production Details and Context
The series is currently in production at Cartoon Network Studios. The initial order consists of 10 episodes, with each installment running approximately 15 minutes. This format aligns with the fast-paced storytelling often found in Tartakovsky’s previous work.
Tartakovsky remains a busy figure in the animation industry. Beyond this new series, he is also developing a Conan the Barbarian project for Prime Video. His extensive filmography includes iconic titles such as Dexter’s Laboratory, Samurai Jack, and the Hotel Transylvania franchise.
Given Tartakovsky’s track record for visual innovation and kinetic storytelling, Heist Brothers stands out as a notable addition to the Adult Swim lineup. Fans of his distinct style can expect the same level of creative energy that has defined his career as he brings this frog-led heist story to life.
