The worlds of sports and horror are set to collide in the upcoming feature Killa. The project has officially tapped Imani Lewis and Tanya Wright to lead the cast of the horror-drama.
Plot and Production Details
The film follows Asa Jones, a young athlete from Louisiana with dreams of dominating the world of girls basketball. As her opportunity for a college scholarship begins to fade, she finds herself drawn to a mysterious and captivating force. The project serves as the feature directorial debut for Laci Dent, who also wrote the screenplay.
Behind the Scenes
Production for the film is scheduled to begin this August. The project features a production team including executive producers Kareem Mortimer, Trevite Willis, and Julia Chatwin of Best Yet Entertainment, alongside Ellen Schmitt and Maggie Flatley of Brickyard VFX Studio. Morgan Bentz is also attached as a producer.
The casting of Lewis and Wright brings together performers with notable genre and television backgrounds. Lewis previously appeared in the Netflix film Vampires vs. the Bronx, while Wright is well known for her roles in True Blood and Orange Is the New Black.
