Ferris Beuller as a Classic Indie Film

Trailer mashups are popular on Youtube, and Ferris Beuller’s Day off has received a remix that makes the film look very different. This time, its presented as an indie coming of age drama.

I like this a lot for a couple of reasons. First, that its done really well and really makes you wonder how that movie might have played out if it was all less comical.

Secondly, it goes to prove that the right soundtrack and presentation speaks volumes about a film. Granted the sequence takes a lot of the movie out of context. But just like the wrong soundtrack distracts from a film, the right song nails it. And the editing certainly tells its own story just as poor editing can ruin it.

We all know that the film doesn’t play out that way but this kind of makes you wish it did.
