Kevin Smith’s Red State Pieces Together a Supporting Cast

I have always been a fan of Kevin Smith’s work even though their are a couple of project I didn’t personally like, the man poops rainbows with a pot of gold and dancing leprechauns at the end of it.

The next big project for Kevin Smith is Red State which has had many snags holding the film back from being made. A huge one of these snags is the fact no studios have yet picked up the film. But a determined Kevin Smith decided to not give up but to make the film he’s been wanting to make despite the lack of support through the studios. After putting most of his own money into the project and jumping through obstacles the film now has a locked lead role and a not-yet-confirmed but most likely will be supporting cast.

The possible cast includes the Oscar nominated Melissa Leo (Frozen River), Dermot Mulroney (My Best Friend’s Wedding), Kyle Gallner (A Nightmare on Elm Street), Michael Angarano (The Forbidden Kingdom), and Stephen Root (Office Space).

For the first time since Clerks I’m trying to go, not unknown, but actors who aren’t like, you’re gonna see them on screen and not know their name…it’s a weird kind of in between neither place that I’m reaching for. It’s not complete unknown and it’s not remotely fucking recognizable, name recognizable…It’s really tough to find actors whose name you don’t know.
