The Social Network Teaser Trailer

Quick tease here. When they announced they were making this film, The Social Network, many people rolled their eyes. How could you do a movie about the creation of Facebook? Or, would anybody care to watch it? I’ve always been interested in stories like this one. About building empires, the behind-the-door negotiations, the people involved and much more. When I read that Aaron Sorkin was writing the script and that David Fincher would direct, then I totally accepted the movie’s Add Request.

Now with this teaser, we get a glimpse of what the movie’s all about. Enjoy the teaser trailer…

The Social Network is scheduled for a October 15, 2010 release. David Fincher is directing, and the cast includes Jesse Eisenberg, Justin Timberlake, Andrew Garfield, Rashida Jones, Max Minghella and Rooney Mara.

  1. ” I really think it’s a bit early for a movie about facebook…”

And if it was a movie ‘about Facebook’, then what you’re saying would be absolutely valid. But it’s not about the entity ‘Facebook’. It’s about the chutzpah-infused guy who ‘created’ it, and the lengths he went to do what he did. (Most importantly, how he screwed people over in the process.)

It’s a film about human nature more than it’s a film about the Web mainstay.

  2. I have completely faith in Fincher making another winner. He has never disappointed me. Not even to mention Sorkin as writer. Double win in my book.

  3. Anything Sorkin does is going to interest me… a few good men, west wing, sports night, studio 60… while not everything he’s done has been a hit I think it’s been written great.

Having said that, a movie about the facebook guy with the n-sync guy in it does give me pause. I really think it’s a bit early for a movie about facebook… if the web has proven anything it’s that most of the companies that look invulnerable become so.
