Bruckheimer was pimping his Prince of Persia: Sands of Time and someone got him talking about the much rumoured Bad Boys 3. Well he doesn’t say it IS happening, but it sounds like it.
Prince of Persia: Sands of Time press junket, and when the topic of a third installment of the popular Michael Bay-Will Smith-Martin Lawrence franchise came up, he responded with, “It’s a wish and a hope and a dream. We’ve been working on a screenplay, which is excellent. It’s an idea Will gave us, so hopefully, it will come to fruition, we would love it to.”
So at best now we have confirmation that all interested parties are hoping to move forward on this, and Will Smith had an idea and Bruckheimer reports he is writing a script for it.
All we need now is someone to admit there is money on the table and the movie is going to happen.
Its all positive news for Bad Boys fans, and I would actually be surprised if this didn’t come to pass at this point.
I’d say once Bay is done with TF3, we’ll start hearing a lot more on this. if I remember correctly, Bay had wanted to do this before TF3, but the studio pressured him into doing TF3 first.
