Jason Segel to Star in the Greatest Muppet Movie

Jason Segel is writing The Greatest Muppet Movie of All Time with James Bobin directing, so its time to start the music, and its time to light the lights.

The Muppets are getting out of the mothballs, but as with any Muppet film there are live actors as well. And it looks like Segel will be taking on that role himself.

Cinemablend shares:

Recently retitled The Greatest Muppet Movie of All Time, the film has signed it’s first human actor, according to THR, and it’s none other than the film’s screenwriter Jason Segel. This shouldn’t come as that big of a surprise since the idea to even make a new Muppet film essentially came from his brain; it only makes sense that he step into the lead.

And very fitting indeed, as his Sarah Marshall character’s obsession with Muppets made me crave another Muppet movie, then hearing the actor was involved had me encouraged.

I am dying to see what they do with this!

  1. As long as the full frontal doesn’t include Kermit I’m game..

I dont know about Genious, that’s a stretch (big time), I liked his Rush loving Drummer in Freeks and Geeks, liked his little bit in Knocked-up, Forgetting Sarah was….well Forgettable, and I love you man seemed called in. He still hasn’t proven worthy to me as a stand out from the Apatow league. (IMO)

I kinda got my fill on his take on Puppets with Sarah Marshall.

But as a Muppet fan and growing up with the T.V. series I’ll watch anything Muppets anyway.

    Staying Hopeful
