Before we even get to take a look at the next installment of the Mummy franchise,(The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor) we get a little slip that there will be more of them.
according to the brand new Evey (Maria Bello), “[There will] absolutely be The Mummy 4.” She also went on to tell MTV that she has signed for not one, but three more sequels.
Now that she signed on for the sequels really doesn’t mean there will be a movie. Sometimes actors just act like the deal is already done to make the public bubble about it. When the fans start asking when the next one is, the studios start asking themselves if they should make one.
The fact that she is signed on for 3 more just means IF they make them, she is obligated to be in it. After the first Evey decided to bail out on the franchise, I am not surprised that the studio would want a prenup with Bello.
I will believe it when I see it. If The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor bombs, we just might not see it.
I think they should’ve gotten Rachel Weiz for Mummy 3 also. Since they didn’t they should really try to get her back for Mummy 4. They should go back to egypt for the next Mummy movie. And find a way to bring back the original cast especially the original Evie. Rachel is much better in the Evie roll especially the chemistry between her and Brendan. The 1st two Mummy’s were great, the 3rd one was kind of weak. The original cast really worked well together.
I enjoyed all three mummie movies and I hope that the fourth is in Peru. The music in all three is spectacular and Maria does very well as Evie. Rachel in the 2nd mummie movie did not seem to have the enthusiaum(sp) as she did in the first. Brandon does well in many movies, but I truly enjoy him “mummie” movies.
I wish they would bring back the old Evey…I just think its better with her in it…i love that one and not the one they have in the mummy 3..sorry thats just how i feel.
I think it’s best to give other actress a chance to fit in as Evey although Rachel is the best. SO far Maria is also good in the third Mummy. Maybe the next Mummy movie the director can give her some more action like the second mummy. We’ll see if she can dot it. (which I think she will)
i don’t think so..mariah bello is great actrees.but she can like Rachel Weist..meybe i like acting Rachel as Evy but not Mariah Bello..
I loved the first two Mummy films. Rachel Weisz made a far better Evie than Maria Bello she is a good actress but no Evie. In the first movie it mentions that Evie is half Egyptian and with Rachel’s looks you could believe that. With Rachel’s Evie the chemistry between her and Rick was believable they could not keep their hands or lips off each other and the fact that Alex being an only child with parents hot for each other, right! With Maria’s there was absolutely no chemistry and the love scenes looked forced and uncomfortable.
The third installment to the Mummy movies was a great disappointment and I only saw bits and pieces of it. In a nut shell it was pretty bloody stupid. Also with the third film they made Rick to be a neglectful father, in the Mummy Returns he was very protective of both Evie and Alex I just could not see Rick doing that.
If and when doing a fourth bring the original Evie and the original magic to the Mummy films that includes the original cast and crew. :)
DITTO they really need the original cast back. lovelyl is right, the chemistry between Maria and Brendan was all wrong. PLease get Rachel back for the next one.
If Rachel Weisz doesnt want to return to the franchise, why bother with all your dumb pleas? Its her decision, not ours…
Maria Bello showed a different Evy on the 3rd installment..We gotta accept the fact that its far more than what we audience liked in the 1st 2 Mummy films…

Maria Bello stated that she signed for a total of 3 Mummy Films…This is the shock…I admit i liked the 3rd film, as i am an avid Mummy fan, but i also have to admit that the film didnt grossed much in cinemas..Wouldn’t it be nice to put a storybook ending on this franchise by making only a 4th, or should i say, last, Mummy film?
Imagine if Mummy 5 and 6 will be created..Where will the O’ Connells go? Phillippines? Ireland? Africa? Japan?

The Mummy: Rise of The Aztec is the current title for the new mummy movie and I think it would be a great installment to the mummy series. I liked this movie because it was something new i was tired of Imhotep and Egypt I liked the idea about a new mummy new bad guys new country and China is an amazing place I think it is a great place to film a mummy movie. I didn’t care about Rachel Weisz not being in it because she quit and for the people who keep asking SHE ISN’T COMING BACK OK!!!!!!! SHE SAID HER CHARACTER WAS TOOO OLD AND THEN SHE CRITIZIED THE SCRIPT SHE ISN’T COMING BACK!!!!!!!. Anyway the I didn’t care I planned to see the movie when they annouced it and i was not dissappointed at all I liked the whole movie I liked Maria bello I liked the new mummy (Jet Li) I was not disappointed at all I am going to get it when it comes out on DVD and It’s worth the wait. And If the the 3rd one didn’t disappoint me then why would a 4th one.

i think that they should have tries harder to get rachel weisz to act in the third movie. also it would have been more original if it was set in egypt even though the whole waking imhotep from the dead thing is getting old. also they could have made alex a teenager or something as it would work seeing as he was only 8 years old in the second film.
It would be kind of weird if Rachel plays in the third because she looks too young to play luke Ford’s mother
In the last one anubis can come back and the heroes have to stop him in a final showdown.
If they do make a fourth mummy, they should make it about the evil god Anubis, since they talked about him in the previous movies.
I also think Alex and his wife can go on without Rick and Evey and mabey the movie series could even go into the 1990s.
I think Maria Bello, and Brendan Fraser should do the fourth one and the other two can be about Alex and his family. I have a couple Ideas and places about The Mummy 4, 5, and 6 like Ireland and Mexico because they found mummies there and like they go to South America and awaken a Mayan mummy or something like that or they go into one of the mexican pyramids and awaken a mummy. But every movie like goes ten years ahead every time so Rick and Evey would probably get old and it would be like around 1973 if they made The Mummy 6 so anyway I have lots of Ideas and thoughts about the other mummy movies.
I think it is wise for them to spread their wings and get into other cultures mythos as well. If they kept it all in Egypt it would suffer from the Murder She Wrote syndrome.
Just how many times can you accidentally awaken a mummy in the same place? Clearly by now you GET IT. Book of the Dead, stop reading it… etc.
I dont get why they made the third mummy out of egypt.I mean the first 2 were just fine there.Its like the third is a compeletly diff. story with only 2 characters from the other movies.ugh am I the only one who thinks they should of kept the movie in egypt with some of the other characters we came to love so much?!
I would love to see them go to ancient Egypt where it all started and show the whole story of Pharoh & his daughter. I would like to see Brandon Frazer play the Maje and the original Maje to play his friend and Evie’s brother would be in the movie as well and all the ones from the first Mummy movie. I love all the Mummy movies. But I do Love Egypt and it’s mystery behind the great land.

I refuse to waste money on a 3rd film! My friend and I were arguing last night about this flick because he’s excited and convinced, for some reason, that it is going to be good. The only favorable comment I made is —-regardless of how good/bad this film is it will do well at the box office. It’s a summer popcorn flick and they always make money.
I’m looking forward to see how it turns out. I didn’t think the second one was all that bad, and still am very entertained every time I watch it.

Why is every one down on this movie before they even start making it? Granted I understnd the thought of another Mummy movie might bomb, BUT I can’t wait to see what they do with it! Let’s just see what unwraps… MWHAHAHA
