Thomas Jane to Star in John Mctiernan’s thriller, ‘Run’

homas Jane has signed on to star in John Mctiernan’s (the director of ‘Die Hard’ and ‘Predator’) upcoming 35 million dollar fast-paced action thriller, ‘Run.’

Comingsoon.net gives us these details:

The wide spaces of Argentina are appropriate for Run, which has an American Interpol agent happening upon a conspiracy during a thrills-and-spills high-speed pursuit across the country.

“This is an unrelenting action-thriller in true McTiernan style, creating acrobatic mayhem in exotic locales,” said Hamilton. “BMW has come onboard to provide the cars, and Roush Performance is designing a Super Mustang for the film, setting up what will be a spectacular vehicle stunt-action chase movie,” he added.

“This is an exciting thriller, which just happens to unravel as cars chase each other at over 120 mph,” said Pierce.

Wow, it seems like they should have changed the movie’s title from ‘Run’ to ‘Drive,’ because it sounds like a smarter version of ‘The Fast and The Furious.’  I’m sorry I can’t comment too much on the quality of cars about the film. To be quite honest, I know nothing about cars, but I know enough that guys all around are probably excited to see this ‘super mustang’ that is supposed to be designed for this film.

One thing I can get excited about is seeing cutie pie, Thomas Jane on the big screen again.  I first took notice of this actor in 1999’s ‘Deep Blue Sea’ when he played Carter, the heroic shark wrangler. Since then, he has definitely evolved and transformed into an even greater actor. I’m glad to see him getting better roles.

What are your thoughts? Are you ready for this high speed thriller?

  1. thomas jane was a perfect punisher
better frank castle then that new dude from the show “rome” will ever be
i dont care about this film. he should be doing the pounisher 2 war zone

  2. I took notice of Jane in ‘Deep Blue Sea’. I really freakiing loved that film, it was a major surprise for me. I even was sad to see Saffon Burrows character get munched up…but then us dudes were also given a nice treat shortly before her character’s demise.

Jane was outstanding in “*61”, which, despite Deep Blue, was the role that really put him on the map, although he’s had supporting and/or bit roles previous to “Sea”. “Face/Off” especially comes to mind.

Any film that casts Jane…? News to me that it might be worth seeing.

He was really good in ‘Mist’ which deserved a better fate, and despite being on the shelf for a year and a half, still want to see KILLSHOT.(Which hopefully will open in April….’sides Jane…there’s Diane Lane, Mickey Rourke and…yummy yummy Rosario Dawson!)

  3. That is the shark dude from Deep Dlue Sea? He was cute in that movie, but whoa… The picture above looks more like that mouse who wrote the letter to St. Nick in the cartoon ‘Twas The Night Before Christmas!
