Michael C. Hall Joins ‘Game’

Wow…the ‘Crank’ duo Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor are really busy these days. Soon their upcoming thriller, ‘Pathology’ will be coming out, and they are already about to film their next thriller, ‘Game‘. This week it’s been announced that one of my new favorite actors is joining the cast.

MovieHole gives us this:

The movie will star Gerard Butler as Kable, who is the top ranked warrior in Slayers, which is a mass-scale, multiplayer online game. But he wants to get back his identity and so he goes on a quest to destroy the system that has incarcerated him. Michael C.Hall will be playing the “guy pulling the strings” bad guy, Ken Castle.

Whoa…I had to read this paragraph over and over again to completely understand what’s it about. Is it about a character stuck in a video game? If so, this is genius! Adding Michael C. Hall to the cast is terrific casting I might add. I LOVE the show ‘Dexter.’ I didn’t watch ‘Six Feet Under,’ but I heard he was gold in that as well. I can’t wait to see this very talented actor hit the big screen, but until then I just will have to get my fix of Mr. Hall on new episodes of ‘Dexter.’

  1. The only reason I will be sure to NOT to miss this movie is because of Micheal C Hall. Tha man is amazing!!!!
Going from playing David Fisher on SFU to Dexter Morgan on Dexter………….not many actors can pull that off!
I just hope they show it in my town. My town is known to skip some of the good movies. If not then I will drive out of town to see it. Michael C Hall will be very much worth driving the 60 miles to the “big City” to see it. :)

  2. I positively LOVE DEXTER also, even though a movie about video games wouldn’t normally do much for me, adding Michael C. Hall just gave a an orgasm so now I have to see it!!!!!!!!!!

  3. this movie also sounds A LOT like the book Heroes Die by Matthew Woodring Stover. In Heroes Die, people are teleported into this fantasy world to fight and die in adventures for our entertainment. The main character is put into one of these adventures and fights back against the “string-puller”.

Still, there are some pretty big differences, so I don’t think it’s anything more than coincidence. It’s a pretty good book anyhow, pretty graphic, but fun.

  4. I love BSG and even with it’s faults is still one of the best shows(that number being very few) on TV. But after seeing Dexter…I must say that it beats everything hands down as the best show on TV by far!

Hall is amazing in his role! And the rest of the cast is just phenomenal!

The movie sounds like Tron, and probably would not interest me, but now with “Dexter” involved, well let’s say my interest is damned piqued!!

  5. Sounds like Gerard’s character is addicted to the game hes playing and wants his life back so goes after the maker – Those games are really hard to pull away from once you get absorbed in leveling your character, etc. Michael C. Hall probably invented the game to mind control people on the other end of the computer for some “sinister” reason. I dont think he gets pulled into the game like in Tron.

  6. If you really wanna compare this movie to a much older one then that’s cool, but 90% of the movies made now are pretty much rip-offs of another movie anyway. It is an endless cycle. Whatever the case, this movie sounds watchable to me and it stars some actors that might make it intersting. Tron was 25 years ago, so who gives two shits.

  7. B.W.E. made me watch “Six Feet Under” and I spent most of the time pissed off at that family. I was annoyed by everyone on that show. That could be due to the actors doing such a fine job, or it could be that the show totally annoyed me. I have yet to confirm one way or the other.

I am under the impression that Hall went the route of Dexter (and what an amazing job he does) to separate himself from the gay, wimpy character he played before.

As far as the premise for this film goes, yeesh, sounds kind of David Fischer to me.

  8. I would be perfectly happy watching Michael C. Hall eating a sandwich for an hour during Dexter. The guy is just that good. However, I do think you can’t fully appreciate how good he really is if you haven’t watched Six Feet Under. I don’t really associate him as an actor playing characters, as far as I am concerned David Fisher and Dexter Morgan are two separate people.

  9. WELL I THINK THIS SITE JOCK’S THESE GUYS TO MUCH….SOUNDS LIKE TRON BUT WITH A MMO TWIST…NOTHING NEW HERE THERE JUST TRYING TO CASH IN ON THE VIDEO GAME CRAZE KNOWN AS MMO’S

W/E IM NOT SAYING THAT THIS SITE IS BIASED TO CERTAIN THINGS BUT IT LOOKS THAT WAY FOR ME…..

  10. I’m buying anything these guys are making. Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor have the most creative ideas. Casting Michael C. Hall was a great idea too. People are loving him right now because of his role as Dexter (in my opinion, the best show currently on television).
