smith.jpg WIll Smith has been getting a lot of respect for the films he has chosen recently, he is on his second Oscar nomination and now his serious work is getting just as muck box office glory as the popcorn flick that he used to do. So why then, does he want to do a Bad Boys 3? The good people over at moviehole.net clarify that for us:

“Will Smith’s people called [Jerry Bruckheimer”, Bay tells MTV, adding that he’d be open to directing a “Bad Boys III”. “Yeah, they’re great fun.” Word is that as soon as “Bad Boys II” wrapped, stars Will Smith and Martin Lawrence got on the phone to Sony’s Amy Pascal and asked her to let them make another one in a coupla years time. That time has come…

So Smith wants to do a Bad Boys 3? Well he may want to do it but I don’t want to see it. The last Bad Boys was a flop, how a movie with that many explosions could be that uninteresting is amazing. It may have been fun to be in but if Smith wants to do something more relaxing he should look elsewhere.

What about a Hitch 2? Or how about a new vehicle for Martin Lawrence and himself? They could find a good comedy/action script around town and have Michael Bay direct if Smith and Lawrence like working with him. I just see nothing interesting or original coming out of a third installment to Bad Boys.

  13. i honestly feel whoever got a problem with Will & Martin making a Bad Boys 3 is just boring and have no type of good imagination for comedy mixed with action films. I believe hooking those two back up with Michael Bay would be a great idea. As long as Martin Lawrence don’t have such a soft character like he did in Bad Boys 2 and be more smooth like Will Smith’s character, then the would be too hot. Im also a big fan of Will Smith and Martin Lawrence so of course would like to see a Bad Boys 3. Its a perfect idea, Bad Boys for life!!!

  34. I’ve come to the conclusion that you have to have a certain vibe to appreciate the comedy and entertainment of Bad Boys I & II. I personally thought both movies were great. Especially the way that Bay used 2 black actors with a great chemistry together, but didn’t make it a “black movie”! I’ve watched both Bad Boy movies dozens of times just as a get-a-way from the daily sh@t that goes on in the real world.

    I know that most of you want a movie that is as close to real life as possible, something that you can actually believe… but damn, it’s also nice to get away from the real stuff sometimes too and just be entertained.

    Again, for those of you who can’t relate to the foul mouth jokes, slang, swagger, and comedy of Mike Lowery & Marcus Burnett… go watch another “Jack Ass” movie. Don’t pick the movie apart about how bad you think it was… just say you don’t relate to it!

    Bad Boy III… I can’t wait!

    Whomever thinks a Bad Boys 3 is a waste of time obviously is not much of an action movie fan. this series is right up there with Die Hard, Lethal Weapon, Rush Hour, Rocky and so on. Think about it, as long as they have fun doing it and it makes money why not? If you don’t think these movies are the same then your not a true action fan. This coming from someone who has probably seen many more films than most critics. When you have actors that click on screen together you usually have a hit.     18. Because psychiatrists are ageist in prescribing tranquilizers, antidepressants (“medication”) and electroconvulsive brainwashing for disproportionately large numbers of elderly people – a form of elder abuse.

    I’am a victim of psychiatric abuse its a crime, and in hospital I have witnessed the twisted mentality of mental health professionals such as abuse like punishing me with force drugging of antipsychotics , chemical restraints ,isolation for days at a time with in appropriate meals, and nursing staff threating me with anything they thought of and it just depends on how mad you got the staff that day. I never did anything out of control or did I get violent,yet I was just standing up for patients rights and making my argued opinions in result I would get tortured with over dosing of forced antipsychotic drugs. I have even witnessed nursing staff murder a co-patient and it was sickening,frustrating and very sad part of my life. I also have a young friend who got an E.C.T done and it has completly fried his memory. after the reinforcement of drugs I have had tremors symtoms of N.M.S head pains, heart cardiac pains,weight gain ,dizzyness and sleepiness all caused by side affects of antipsychotic drugs. I suffer each day with the symptoms and I don’t think I will live that long on psychiatric medication its deadly look at the statistics if anyone can help me with this prosectution I would appreciate all the help I can get please I can name a few people who were responsible for the murders of some people:

  64. I may not want to see a bad boys 3 but you are ridiculous to think that bad boys 2 was a flop. That is ridiculous. Maybe in Canada they didn’t like it, but I have NEVER heard anybody say that movie was a fuckin flop. “FLOP” is a BIG word. That movie was intertaining as shit. Flop? HELL NO.

  66. A 3rd one? I liked the first 2, but didn’t love them. Like most everyone says above, just good mindless action films. I don’t think I’d be there on opening day for the 3rd. Not even sure I’ll see it in theaters period, depends on how good the trailers are.

    But I will for sure want to see it atleast on DVD one night with my buddies. I just don’t want it to be as long and spread out as the 2nd one was. I’d watch the 2nd one more often if it wasn’t so damn long.

  67. I agree. Say what you want, but those movies are flat out fun. I get so tired of people shitting on movies just because it’s not some literary Oscar fare. Movies can teach, movies can inspire and movies can – GASP! – sometimes just be plain old fun. Bad Boys and Bad Boys II were both just glammed-up, pumped-up, trash-talking fun. I enjoyed both and would welcome a third film.

  68. I know everybody hates it, but I FUCKING LOVE Bad Boys II just as much as the first. I will be there on opening night to see this movie.

    Granted the second one went for a bit long but still awesome fun. Not really a thinking mans movie, but we can’t sit around watching art house drama biopic thoughtful movies all day everyday.

  69. I couldnt stand Bad Boys 2. First off, the running time was far too long for the subject material. The film completely stops for it’s jokes. The action scenes were incoherent. Not to mention the film is just plain dumb. I also found the first film boring as well. And to follow up Transformers with Bad Boys 3?

    I got a better idea Ted, why don’t you shut your fat lips (whatever color your lips are) and stop ragging on people more talented than you’ll ever be! Jealousy is ugly, but stupidity is downright revolting!
    Will Smith is THE MAN! His movies are consistently entertaining (maybe not instant classics, but these days, whose movies are?) Bad Boys 2 is one of my favorite mindless action romps and I know I’m not alone when I say I’ll be in line to see the three-quel.

  71. I recognize Bay gets a lot of flak for his films. But he himself admits they’re, for the most part, mindless fun. The man knows action, and in his direction everything else is auxiliary. For a film-goer who appreciates good plot and characterization, Bay’s films are generally uninteresting. But for the average film-goer, the one who wants to escape from life and have some fun for two hours, Bay’s films are an excellent choice. Even though films like Armageddon, Bad Boys, and Con Air are all flawed or lacking in certain areas, I generally enjoy the action and mayhem they present. Bay is good at what he does, and that is making action films.

  72. i like smith’s films, but just for entertainment, i don’t go and see his films and expect citizen kane, but i think bad boys 3 will be too much considering the part 2 had a horrible script and horrible acting :(

Saw Bad boys I and thought what a piece of crap…thought it would be fun because I like Smith (hate Lawrence though…what a waste of human existence), but walked out thinking I hate Bay even more now than ever before…Boys II? Well why waste time? In fact why waste time with Boys III? I guess when money talks, people make garbage.

  78. I personally have never been that much of a fan of the Bad Boys series. They’re okay every now and then to relieve stress or to get depressing films such as Downfall or Hotel Rwanda out of your head. But I personally feel there is no need for a third. They are just making trilogies for the sake of it now.

    1. The thing about Bad Boys 2 is not only did Will Smith and Martin Lawrence play their characters trying to do a drug bust, but the next assignement got personal. Question… how would you like it if some drug dealer kidnapped your brother or sister and held them hostage? I would be furious. The second part of the film got personal. When people mess with other people’s family members, it gets personal especially when Smith and Lawrence had to rescue Martins sister in the movie from a high profiled drug dealer. If Bad Boys 3 is going to be made, it needs to be different and better. It should top Bad Boys 2. Heck, I’ll write the scripts and make it good too.
