Unknown White Male Trailer

Okay – this is weird stuff. Perhaps it’s because I’ve known someone who’s completely lost their memory – or perhaps it’s just flat out odd. This trailer just popped up on ifilm about half a second ago…

Unknown White Male Trailer.

All righty, first, this is a true story. It’s a documentary about a guy named Doug Bruce who, suddenly, knew nothing of his entire life. He still doesn’t to this day. He got hit with an extremely rare, sudden form of Retro-grade Amnesia while riding the subway home in New York. Everything. Gone. His family, his education, his music, everything he’s ever known with the exception of how to speak English, gone in a swift biological format of his brain. And this is the story not only of who he was, but a discovery of life – all over again. Watch the clips from the film while you’re on the page… It’s so very strange – yet it’s instructional: here’s a grown man appreciating every single tiny detail of life as if he was an infant who can walk and talk and comprehend things fully… I’ll never forget taking my friend to his “first” Taco Bell visit after he lost his memory (Taco Bell was his favourite place to eat).

So far, it has been an official selection for a number of Film Festivals, including the Sundance Film Festival. No word yet on its potential release or even its own website – too bad, I hope no one forgets about it.. Get iT?! Forget?? Okay, fine, that sucked….
