Richard Gere in The Flock

gere34.jpgI really like Richard Gere as an actor. While none of his films pop-up on my favorites of all time, he’s got a whole lot of them that I really like (Runaway Bride, Red Corner, King David, Primal Fear, Pretty Woman, An Officer and a Gentleman). And yes, Richard Gere has been in some HORRIBLE films too (Autumn in New York, Shall We Dance, Intersection and one of the worst films in history: Dr T and the Women).

Gere already has about 3 projects in the works at the moment, but you can add another one to that list. “The Flock” is next in line.

The Hollywood Reporter reports that Richard Gere will star in “The Flock,” a thriller to be directed by Andrew Lau (“Infernal Affairs”). Lau will be making his English language debut in this $35 million dollar thriller. Gere will play a federal agent, who along with his female partner in training, tracks down a missing girl.

I LOVED Infernal Affairs, so I’m hoping Lau will be able to bring some of that raw tension to the screen again in a North American film (which I’m sure he will if the studios just let him do his thing). More info to come as I get my hands on it.

  1. One of Gere’s best roles was also a film called “Internal Affairs”. It co-starred Andy Garcia and was helmed by Mike Figgis. Gere played a bad cop.
