Wow! Fantastic news, and this promises to be so much fun. In the original Pirates of the Caribbean, Johnny Depp played the character Jack Sparrow that was modelled on Keith Richards of Rolling Stones fame, just looking and listening to him was enough to convince anyone.
Now, on this major scoop, Yahoo movies are reporting that Depp has managed to secure Richards to play Sparrows father in Pirates of the Caribbean 2.
This promises for a laugh a minute, if not more. Expect many outtakes on that set!

Mark… that is just stupid. Obviously Pepe Le Pew is NOT going to be Depp’s mother. However… Wile-E-Cyote will be playing his close uncle. Great cinema!

this was discussed in the british media a couple of weeks ago… though, at the time, they said depp was trying to persuade him… afterall the character was based on richards…
I’m almost positive that I remember him saying in one of the bonus features on the DVD that he modeled Jack Sparrow after someone else. The name escapes me now, but I thought that Richards was just sort of secondary to this other person as the influence for Sparrow.
But then I could just be on too many drugs. (Or not enough).
Well he certainly looks like the living dead so he’s a perfect fit. ;-)
