Resident Evil 3? Oh Please let the Hurting Stop

milla.jpgAgainst my better judgment, I squeezed in some time to catch Resident Evil 2. Good Lord is this a horrible movie. Acting=pitiful, Story=What freaking story?!?!, Directing=Did they have a director?, Dialog=painful. Action=boring and sometimes impossible to follow because of rotten camera work and editing. Ironically there was only 1 decent thing about the movie… It KNOWS it’s stupid.

I realize that sounds funny, but right from the beginning you could tell that the film makers knew this film was horrible and weren’t going to insult our intelligence by pretending otherwise. It knew the audience was mostly going to be teenage boys wanting to see some explosions and Milla Jovovich in skimpy outfits… so that’s all they focused on. And to be fair, they delivered.

Now, here’s some earth shattering news for you. Milla Jovovich is interested in doing a Resident Evil 3!!! Oh wow! What a shock! You mean the actress who can’t get any real work is interested in doing another movie?!?! Wow… stop the presses. So far her best work was in Zoolander as Katinka Ingabogovinanana (I bet most of you didn’t even know that was her!). Please… for goodness sake… won’t someone please think of the children and stop RE3 from being made.

  1. im a massive fan of the games and i thought r.e apocalypse was one of the worst films iv ever seen i know everyone has their own opinion but anyone with atleast half a brain cell shud know it was shoddy and they wasted the nemesis

  2. Dude what tha fuck R U talkin about, aint no one dissin RE3, that game rocks, we’re just talkin about the 3rd movie in hope that any makers of the third film actually reads any of this so they don’t screw up the story of the 3rd film, but i understand.

  3. Now for all of you here the first movie great, the second movie i agree with chooB, great movie for fans of the game, and where the hell is Leon and claire, at least. Though Doubleface is also correct, cuz the movie is kinda fucked up, you cant have alice kill nemesis, if the characer from the game kills nemisis, then make her kill him in the movie, and yeah omar epps i didn’t fuckin understand his part, and for hod sakes put some hunters in the movies, and maybe the Tyrant, i mean he is only one of the major enemies in Game 1, get in depth with the game characters. And i agree that the movies should be slightly different so you are suprised when you see it for the first time, but it should atleast stick to the story of game, as far as i see it the movies are completely different stories with characters from the good story of the games. the ending of movie 2 was very stupid, i didn’t fuckin get it, so now what she can’t die, she’s gonna kill everyone and be bad now. the ending was kinda stupid. And Yeah where the hell is wesker, he is a wicked mother fucker. they need to make the next few RE movies follow a story line with Wesker, chris, Jill, Leon, Claire. And what i hate is how when you watch the features on movie 2, they say the chick in the game CVX running along a wall of glass getting shot up is Alice when we all know it’s Claire. Stick to the story thats all we are all trying to say. And if you want me to write the next few movies out i will, cause i’m trying to become a screen writer. Games are good, movies are good but they are both different

  4. Oh my god. The reviewer of this movie is an idiot. The movie was great. I can’t wait for RE3. Who reviewed this.. John Campea. Well you should quit this job and give it to someone else. Give an honest, fair response. Not a biased, hurtful one. Give the bad AND good… If she read this, it’d hurt her. This movie was good and it takes a lot of talent to produce a movie like this. Especially with all the effects. You need to learn how to review. I don’t know how you got your degree in a field dealing with criticism, IF you even have one. Anyways, good job community. You put this guy to shame. Go RE3!

  5. There needs to be a third movie to proceed into the plot of “Project Alis.” Besides I would love to see the Umbrella corporation fail and crash. Though what I can’t figure out is if Alis is going to be good or bad, sure she is now controlled by programming, however her insane amount of mental energy can override it.

  6. Are you on pot or somthing the move was great and the 3ed will be even better. If you can’t fallow the story line then you should not be writing stuff about movies!!

  7. The woman who played Jill is orgasim in my pasim (pants). Herself as Jill with that tube top and skirt was just AGAHHHHH OORGGYY!!!!! Damnit shes gorgeous, Jill is hot as a fucker too in the RE series. I gotta get out more…

  8. The script writer and the coordonater of the movie just fuck`t up the entire storyline, watch the game storyline idiots and make it a little different not the houl story different, the first part was good ,but the second was a total failure……… let us see what will be in the 3rd part :) maybe a parody ??? :)))

  9. Mad movies, I loved them, Love Milla, and loved costumes and the action, didnt notice bad story line or bad camera work, because i was so engrossed in movie..

Hope they keep making more.. Res evil2 the start was based on the game where she’s at the car, so at least some part of it corresponds :P

  10. I liked the movie, they should have done some of the camera work better, and Jill should have been a cameo, then they could have kept the movie more of a side story to the RE series. otherwise it was a good movie, milla was hot, the action was kick-ass, and overall it was entertaining, which is all a movie really needs to be anyway.

  11. HEY MAN HAVE YOU EVER EVEN FOLLOWED THE SERIES!!! SERIOUSLY THE MOVIE WAS GOOD!! THINK ABOUT IT. YOU TRY MAKING A MOVIE THAT FOLLOWS SUCH AN AWESOME AND WELL KNOWN GAME SERIES AND IT BEING AS SUCCESSFUL AS IT WAS. A LOT OF PEOPLE DIDNT THINK IT WOULD LIVE UP TO THE RE NAME. I DIDNT BUT YOU KNOW WHAT IT DID. AND AS FOR THE 3RD ONE I AM EXCITED AS HELL FOR IT TO BE COMING. IT WILL BE INTERESTING TO SEE WHAT THEY DO WITH IT. GET SOME BACKGROUND INGO BEFORE YOU DOG THE MOVIE MAN!!! PS RESIDENT EVIL 4 IS AWESOME

  12. I liked the second and the first movie, and yes I agree with you all that the camera work sucked ass. And jill was a panzy in the movie, she totally should have rocked the crap out of milla.

talking about soon to be wifes, Jill is mine. That babe is hot, and so is the man that played carlos…oded you know? Hot.
BRING ON THE THIRD MOVIE W00T

  13. I enjoyed the movies. The first one was Way better than the second, but….ODED is cute. lol
I am rather happy that they dicided to to another one, or are at least thinking about it.

I have herd so many rumors abotu the movie….see I have never played the games so I am at a bit of a lose when it comes to plot, but what I herd was that in the 3rd movie, carlos and jill end up together, and then I herd that carlos ends up turning into the next nemesis

    whats up?

  14. i think the creators of the resident evil films should be put to shame… you have to ask yourself, have they actually played the games? the films where nothing like the games. where were all the proper charecters like chris redfield, barry burton, jill valentine in her sexy stars outfit and lets not forget the legend that he is… the ultimate bad ass… albert wesker. it was those charecters that made the first game so cool. also there was a serious lack in monsters… i mean come on, some zombies, monster dogs and a licker. where were the killer plants, the hunters and the crows. what about the meanest monster of the all… you know the one i mean… the Tyrant at the end of the first game. they where what made the game so memerable. they didn’y even have the killer snakes. the hole story line of the resi evil films was just not good enough. i wanted more. i wanted resident evil… not this piece of crap that they flogged me off with. the films should of been more scary like the games where. it should of been darker and more intence. when i saw the films it was like watching a kids version, all bright and colourful. what anoys me most is that the resident evil films had such potential and could of been amazing but instead they buggered it good and proper!!!

  15. I think the first part was better than the second though it didn’t follow the actual storyline in anyway..the sequel wasn’t bad either..well..except maybe for the horrible camera work.
all in all Resident evil rocks…

Its fun to watch a movie made on your favorite video game..eagerly waiting for the sequel !!!

    Have fun guys.

  16. All greetings from the native ground where to be born Milla. I certainly not the expert at cinema also cannot judge so competently as all here above, but all to tell-film to leave simply class insurgent, but in any way horror!!! I to hope that in the third part film in the armchair to return the Floor Andersen (to hope that I correctly to write its name), and music to hope what to improve in the third part film.

    Adios!!!

    P.S.
    Greetings Milla’s!!!

  17. dude fuck you resident evil 2 was a kickass movie. some of the story was maybe– lose. but they action was nice. and if you were a fan of the games you should of liked the idea. and even if you haven’t played the game you could of enjoyed the movie. so if you ask me you can stick your review right in you ass and never say anything again.

  18. Campea look all i can say is that you must be really fucking stupid to not notice that the RE2 movie was good well i can admit it was kinda hard to understand all of it but at least it had a good plot and yes i do think they should make a 3rd RE movie and anyone that doesnt think so well i just hope you can find help for your head problem somewhere… but anyway your just bitching about how there shouldnt be a third film is because your probably one of those 35 year old low lifes that live in there parents basement caz you have no life but to sit on your computer and bitch about movies…. but hey thats just my opinion

  19. The first RE movie was extremely good, it was different from the game but that doesn’t make it a bad movie. The music made it even better, Marilyn Manson is a musical genius. the story was intriguing, the movie could have been better i agree.

The second RE movie was a disapointment, because the first one was hard to live up to. The second movie had much more potential, the storyline was very good. cheesy set, gay music, camera angles were a little sketchy and milla wasn’t that good

Despite the failure of the 2nd movie, I still hope there will be a RE3. This time, they should follow the game storyline more precisely because of all these upset nerds that overlook it was a good, origonal movie because it strayed a bit from the game.

This movie still has potential, if it wasn’t so overrated and hyped up, and the music totally sucked, BRING BACK MARILYN MANSON!! *big mistake getting rid of him* the twisted mind of MM made it all the more creepy.

Chris makes a strong point about milla, steroid pumped, brainless action, and she is totally useless, they should just have her for the first 3 minutes of the new movie and kill her off or something. Please don’t make the mistake of hollywoodizing RE3, if they stuck to the principles of the first movie I’d be happy :)

  20. i have seen both the movies own both them, i love resident evil, after watching the movies it made me sick this isnt the reident evil i love, this is some $h1ty directors view of a game he played once or twice i think fans should have had more input i hate to say it but we own the game on some level, i feel the same way that i would if some one made a bad movie about any thing i love my mom for example if some one made a movie about my mom and added a bunch of action and stuff that never hapend i would be just as mad, they should have made it more for the fans if i wanted to see the matrix i would have went to the matrix, thanks for listning long live the true resident evil ps wtf did she ramp that motercycle up to get in the window : )

  21. what the hell is u guys problem everything was great in the whole movie acting everything so get a life and resident evil 3 is gonna be awesome and the person who thinks this movie is crap it isnt either rewatch or get a frigin life cause u dont have a clue about the world and dont say girls might not like all the killing and explosions that stuff is awesome and by the way if the film was so horrible y r they making another one answer that thats right u cant cause ur life sucks enough to just make fun of something u dont understand

  22. greenfaery,
you are so right, jill valentine killed the movie, milla was way better!!!! jill had the gayest lines too, it just made me wanna scream everytime she said those retarded cliche’ s. Anyway, Milla kicks ass!!!!!!!!!

  23. I THINK THE RESIDENT EVIL MOVIE IS PAP AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE BY GEORGE ROMERO SET IN A SPOOKY MANSION LIKE THE BLOODY GAME.
I HAVE READ HIS SCRIPT AND ITS NOT GREAT BUT ITS SCARY ENOUGH. AND HE KNOWS HOW TO MAKE A GOOD ZOMBIE HORROR FLIK?

  24. No Way man, their definitely should be a resident evil 3, the first movie was the best an the 2nd was primo. Having Jill valentine in apocalypse killed the movie coz shes not as good as Milla, I think shes a fake. awesome movie

  25. Chris, you sound a bit over the top, like you’re just bagging this for the attention. A shame really, misplaced talent is such a waste.

But I do enjoy reading this blog, all the positive reviews makes me hopeful that there is a Resident Evil 3 coming.

  26. Chris,
I am not going to berate your opinion, but I would like to say that I disagree with your faith and belief in George Romero. Granted, he was a cult classic favorite, but his readaptation of Dawn of the Dead was horrible. I find it very hard to believe that no one in the entire “mall” group would carry a cell phone. In the age of technology where you can find the internet at a pay per hour stand in the mall, or in the security booth perhaps, I find the situation to be ridiculous. If he is going to remake a movie for the present day, then he needs to become technologically advanced during filming. It just wasn’t believable. Let’s not also forget that George Romero would be nothing without Tom Savinni his makeup artist.
As for playing the games, I HAVE played every RE game except Code Veronica because it was never produced for the systems that I owned until now. I love the games, but I also love the movies. Just because they are different, it does not make them bad. Think outside the box. If a person goes into a movie expecting something and it turns out differently, does it still make it a bad movie? Only in the eyes of the disappointed person.

  27. Chris,
I know you have the right of speech i’m not stupid, i just like to argue, and i am trying to prove a point, which is that my outlook is better. I just dont understand why, if you seriously hated the movie so much, why you would write about it. If you hated it THAT much why waste you time writing 5 paragraphs of meaningless bullshit words.
I mean the only thing i could hate that much is something with Salma Hayek or Paris HIlton in it. Anyway, just let it go…

Milla, I love you so much! Please dont ever stop kicking ass…

  28. Invested (n-vst)
    v. in·vest·ed, in·vest·ing, in·vests
    v. tr.
To commit (money or capital) in order to gain a financial return: invested their savings in stocks and bonds.

To spend or devote for future advantage or benefit: invested much time and energy in getting a good education.
To devote morally or psychologically, as to a purpose; commit: “Men of our generation are invested in what they do, women in what we are” (Shana Alexander).
To endow with authority or power.
To install in office with ceremony: invest a new emperor.
To endow with an enveloping or pervasive quality: “A charm invests a face/Imperfectly beheld” (Emily Dickinson).
    To clothe; adorn.
    To cover completely; envelop.
To surround with troops or ships; besiege. See Synonyms at besiege.
    (care of dictionary.com)

Exactly what is it that I have invested, Angie? It’s so satisfying to see our tax dollars working for us in our schools.

Now I don’t want to start start a flame contest with you, but I didn’t see any text on this page limiting my right of speech in any way, did you? It’s because I hate it so much that I CAN write five paragraphs about how much I hated it. It doesn’t matter how long it took. For your information I very much enjoyed writing that post, in fact I used it again, even polished it up and added in more comments. I expressed my opinion in the proper way on a ligitimate thread; am I supposed to take it down now that I’ve upset little old you? Fat chance. Oh and I suppose I should change my outlook about it just because you liked it and I didn’t? Yeah…right. I have an idea, grow some balls and realize the world isn’t limited to your perspective. Just look at the author’s comment at the top of the page, that’s proof enough.
“[G]od! It[‘]s just a movie.” I agree, do you care so much?

  29. Chris N.,
Why are you so invested in this movie? If you hate it so much why write 5 paragraphs about it? You must have a lot of time on your hands. Also, everything you said was bullshit! RE one and two rocked. Milla fucking kicked ass in both of the movies, and Mr. Ashfords daughter was really good too. Don’t be so critical Chris… god! Its just a movie.

    I Love You Milla

  30. Holy Jesus McChrist in a happy meal! You are officially my God. It’s about time somebody spoke up about how much the damn RE movies SUCK! I’m sorry to say but if you actually liked this film, please actually PLAY resident evil… or just buy a ps2 anyway and smash it over your head. Ahem…
First of all I’d just like to say that Alice is the most retarded (I rarely use that word) and irrelavent character I’ve ever seen in any film based on a game. She had no real reason to be there at all- this is PROVED when in RE2, Jill Valentine holds the whole movie going for the first quarter. Also, Milla, I’m sorry, but you suck. Not in the good way either. You’re just a bad actor. Furthermore I might actually be sugar coating that statement. The piece of paper that floated by your feet at the very end of RE1 had more credibility and relevance to the plot then you did. Miechelle Rodriguez, or whatever the hell her name was…she’s just scary. But Alice, SHE WAS EXPENDABLE!! There was no real reason for her to be in the movie at ANY point in ANY film and I’m slowly becoming convinced that the only reason she is there is to screw up the movie even more. Pointless nipple shots…after awhile no one cares…wait… I NEVER cared. No one who has a flat chest with two golf pegs (see them at the end of RE2? those could take out an eye) deserves to be seen even remotely naked, especially when I’d get more aroused from seeing a 2 by 4 naked. Which is probably harder to do then Milla (yes that’s right I went there) And speaking of popping up. When the hell was it concidered a good idea to blast through a cathedral window on a motorcycle, then blow up said mode of transport to kill only one (that’s only one as in, one out of three 1:3, 1/3 etc) licker? Why didn’t she get shot by anyone then? I would have. She’s clearly a liability to anyone’s survival. “Let’s run after Nemesis by ourselves for no reason, that’s a good idea wouldn’t you agree?” “Let’s wander into a school obviously full of zombies and split up and look for nothing at all in order to systematically off a character who would have been a much better addition then me…oh wait…make that TWO characters who are more relevant…nope three..that last one was my fault hehehehe…”

Zombies? HA! I hardly call a bunch of extras covered in ONLY fake blood gruesome, grotesque, or even serious. An advanced aerobics class would have a more convincing look to them. Dogs? Same! And when Milla kicked the dog in the head, I knew for sure she needed to be sent into Raccoon city without a weapon, wearing a full space suit.(I’m talking about the REAL Raccoon city as composed by the only one in the world who could have saved this film but didn’t, the creator of RE, Shinji Mikami. not this trash..which I’ll get to later.) And Nemesis. Supposed to be the badass of Resident evil three (I will say there have been better tyrants) completely butchered when that doiley wearing metrosexual gets infected with the T (NOT the actual Nemesis parasite but the wimpy T-virus)has a wee mutation and suddenly he’s qualified to be a killing machine. Don’t make me laugh. Nem was a joke. In the end Milla somehow(!) convinces him to be on the good side. Was I the only one the theatre crying by that point? Nem barely has a brain (in a literal sense) let alone a heart. And did anyone notice that they conveniently got rid of ALL the STARS members right off the bat? I guess there must have been a short circuit because last time I saw, Jill Valentine was a STARS member. Notice how she became strangely irrelevant to Nem’s goals when Alice showed up?

That’s what really pissed me off all over the place more then anything else I must say (next, of course, to Alice never dying when she could have and made the rest worth watching. but it’s very close…and still has to do with Alice) is the backseat that Jill Valentine, an ACTUAL character had to take when Alice showed up in her moped. If you will remember she busted into the RPD and ruined the s**t of every zombie in the room, and did a pretty badass job of it too I might add. When Alice showed up, Jill may have left the story completely. They gave her no more openings. I think I remember her being the one who kills of Nem in RE3…someone please correct me if I’m wrong *obvious sarcasm*. And why does the villain always come back? “Let’s go back to kill off Alice…even though if we stay out of the city no men will die AND she will never escape and I won’t be such a douchebag afterall.” No, instead we got “Let’s go men. Zombies everywhere, no chance of escape from our product Nemesis who will come to us because Valentine is there. We can take it. Hey, if we lose we might even leave a chopper for them! Good job guys, sure beats going home as heroes. Might even get a raise and promotion *shudder*.”

Now I will direct my attention to the Ashfords summed up in three words. Misplaced, Misused, Misinterpreted. They weren’t even supposed to be In Raccoon in the first place. The little girl sucked. Why is she with them now? She’s supposed to be evil and not even technically exist yet. And her father is a crippled douchebag! He’s supposed to have died long ago and I reiterate how they’re not supposed to be in Raccoon. And didn’t the daughter of Ashford also have a brother? Incredible what slips through the cracks.

Thank you Paul. Did you go to university/college to be a writer/ director of film? Do you have a lawyer? Get your lawyer and sue the school. Maybe the world can be saved from movies this horrible. And don’t give me any of that “I didn’t have any other options.” bull either. YOU HAD THE OPPURTUNITY TO USE A SCRIPT BY THE INFAMOUS GEORGE A ROMERO!!! For those who don’t know he wrote and directed the night of the living dead series. He would have been a shoe in to make this film perfect. But Paul Anderson, or as I like to call him the ‘I think this would appeal to kids of today’ nazi. Take a look at that sentence. It’s not a direct quote from Anderson (I think. Probably is) I’ll admit but I think it sums him up pretty well. Notice how it’s “appeal to kids today” notice “appeal” which is a crappy word on it’s own. Now notice “to kids today” How about this, Anderson, why don’t you try appealing to…I don’t know…FANS OF THE GAMES! Where the hell did Alice come from anyway? What kind of a trip were you on when you came up with that. If Mikami was dead, he’d have spun around three times, crawl out, walk around for a bit, smack you in the face, go back into his grave then when you die (Which won’t be long if you keep directing. Not a threat, a fact) he’ll get out again and piss on your grave for spite. You’re a clearly useless writer, an even more useless director. You don’t have the credibility to do anything even close to horror, you’re barely good enough for the worst genre of action movies–being what you have turned RE into. You’re to horror and video games…f**k it, you’re to the MOVIE INDUSTRY what George Clooney is to the Batsuit. I don’t think I need to go on, not that I can without throwing up.

Congratulations Mr Anderson. You are number one on my list of people to throw unarmed into Raccoon city.

  31. right…..ma commet is that the RE games/films were all good and i know everyone is entitled to there opinion and stuff… but in my books milla is hot and too some of you little “SHITS” out there, milla had to be in the 2nd movie cause it would be stupid if she wasn’t, RE1 introduced the whole T-VIRUS shabang so that non-game players got to grips with the storyline and bringing her into the 2nd just made it seem right,, anyway if she wasn’t in it then we wouldn’t have seen the motorcycle scene with the licker things, which i personally think rocked big time, leaving both movies on the edge of another movie is really annoying but if you want a little inside info on RE3 then here u go…INSIDE INFO… Milla has signed up for another movie but the movie doesn’t go into publication until late november 2005, basic storyline is Alice is programmed to find out as much as they can bout jill and crew then kill them, but when she remembers they are “buddies” she tries to fight herself and runs off, the t virus is realeased in the shape of an anti-ageing cream called “REGENERATE” and spreads to europe etc…. jill and crew have to fight to stop it being deported but end up infecting fellow americans… massive explosions etc…. want more info then email me …. cheerio ….RE RULES

  32. I don’t know who wrote this review but you need your head checked. I will admit that RE1 was better then RE2, but RE2 was still good.
I can’t wait for RE3 I think Hollywood will repay its mistakes in part 2 with part 3.
As for Milla’s acting lets see you do better smart ass!! Don’t critisize someones acting until you’ve tried doing it yourself. Milla wants to do another resident evil because part 1 and 2 were probably fun for her and she knows that the fans loved them, the true fans that is.

  33. To answer your question, Justo. I didn’t want to see the EXACT story, but I wanted to see the movie follow the story line. The games were great, and I think if the first movie kinda followed the game that it would have been more appealing to us gamers. Therefor make more money. And the second movie followed the game from characters, not the story. If you remember, Resident Evil Nemesis was three days after the outbreak of the T virus, and so was Resident Evil 2. Because if you know the whole story, Nemesis took place before Two, they just released Nemesis afterward, for reasons un-known.

  34. oh my god! the guy who wrote the main comment must be on drugs. resident evil 1& 2 are the freakin best movies ever. and milla jovovich is the most talented person out there. she can sing, play the guitar, also she can act and is so gorgeous that she can model too. she is so pretty and has the sexiest voice ever. and she rocks in zoolander, in fact she rocks in all her movies. she is an extremely down to earth person and is really kind. she is really funny in the fifth element ” big badaboom!” lol i love you milla!

  35. Well, I just sat down and read these posts. Yes some infantile talk is goign to happen – like all things in life a person’s oppinion is going to effect the outcome of a view. Personally, zombie movies were never a favorite of mine, and so I went to watch both movies (I forgot about them for a time, and remembered just yesterday…oh yeah I wanted to see that a while ago).

The Fifth Element is one of my favorite movies, and put Milla up there as one of my favorite actresses. TO be truthful, I agree with both sides and what they say above on this matter. Yes, the acting and camera work isn’t top notch. That is your oppinion, and I give you credit for it. I really liked both movies, and enjoyed the second a bit more. Again, not a zombie man here, but I enjoyed it. I work at GameStop and the release of the RE4 game has had people talking about the movie. I hear various views on it.
I understood the storyline and was pulled in throughout the movie. I really liked it, and can’t wait for the 3rd movie to be out. And yes the skimpy clothes were a little of a plus, being 20, it adds a little ;). Besides, I like Milla.
Thanks all for letting me say my piece, and remember, these are just oppinions – some will like it, others won’t, just be glad there are varying remarks for it. Maybe I will see some of you back here when the 3rd is out.

  36. I remeber when I first watched the first one. There was all this hype, and it wa so exiting because i loved the Game. Then it came out and i went to watch it and i thought “oh my god, that sucked.” Years later i came back to it. Long after my resident Evil faze, mostly disolved because at the time i couldn’t afford $249 for a ps2. And I realized I actually like it. Michelle Rodriguez’s character sticks in my mind for some reason, along with the Red Queen and Milla as seconds. But now i absolutely love the movie. In my mind, despite if there’s a difference in the game (I can’t remember anymore), it’s very possible the movie itself could be a prequel to the first of the games. Obvioulsy characters changed, situations dissolved, but it’s possible.
The second one, while dissapointing at first had continued to grow on me. Alot of what I saw reminded me of the game. The Epps character I thought added a touch of humor, which if you notice hollywood can’t help but add to every movie it makes these days. Jill’s Character on the other hand seemed like it got screwed over. The first scene, where they introduced her in the police station was just so fake and horribly done i nearly shut the movie off right there. What little more they include wasn’t very enlightening at all.
Quesiton before i go on… was the little girl they were rescuing the Red queen from the first? Becasue if not, she looks miraculousy close.
Anyway, the situation worked out well, the man getting these people to rescue his daughter. It made an excellent storyline other than it just seemed horibly shot. As if the action was unreal or something. The scnes with Nemesis were interesting to say the least. And i really enjoyed the ending of there being enough of the man left, to recognize Milla’s character.
All in all I enjoyed the first the most. But here’s to hoping there’s a third.

  37. I thought the movie was a blast and I can not weight to own all r.e. movies so piss on all who do not like the movies. If you dont like them dont watch them. Rock on resident evil 3.

  38. Ciprioni, let me ask you this. Why on Gods green earth would you want to watch a movie that tells the same story as the game did? Don’t get me wrong RE Apocalypse did tell alot of the same story as RE 3 and Code veronica but still it was a little different. I guess what im trying to say is if i wanted to watch a movie with the same story as the game, i would just play the game again. At least then i could enjoy myself. But still in my opinion both of the Resident Evil movies kicked ass!!!

  39. I just hated the movies because they defile the story line.. Why would you wanna see a movie that is supposed to be about your favorite game, and it not follow the story at all? I mean, yes some think it was good, some think it sucked, and after playing and beating the whole series ( besides 4, I’m working on it ), the movie ruined the whole ”we wanna see the game on the movie screen” effect for a lot of fans, expecially me. If I wouldn’t have played the games, I would have loved the movies. But for that simple fact, in my mind, it sucked. So, etc etc etc, I stand by my guns, the movies defiled the Resident Evil story line, and the producers should burn in hell. But that is only my opinion… Laterz!

  40. I’m a big fan of resident evil but the first movie sucked. At least the second one had nemisis in it. I hope they make a third one. And i hope it has leon, claire, chris, albert, and barry. I hope that alice becomes veronica in the third one. write back if u want to my e-mail is on top. to all RE fans, see ya.

  41. I would like to start by saying that I have played almost every RE game and bought a GameCube for the sole purpose of continuing the franchise. On that note, I do agree that the movies do not follow the story line, especially the first movie. However, it is a movie. How many times have we read a book and then watched the movie based on the book. The key word there is based. The director and screenwriter are allowed to take license to create their own vision. The same has happened in the RE movies. I personally have enjoyed the movies, especially the second one. I felt that Jill looked almost exact to the character in RE3. As far as her being weaker, I don’t think so. It isn’t that she is weak, it is that Alice is that much stronger to the the hybridization. I am disappointed that the S.T.A.R.S team was just simply obliterated by Nemesis.
Overall, I think that the movies were very well done. I also believe that for people who are foreign to the franchise, the enjoyment in the films will probably not be there. I anxiously anticipate a third movie and will see it in the theater. For all the people who are that disappointed, stop watching the movies and think about purchasing RE4 for Game Cube. I already have.

  42. Uh, this movie had me and the boys going at it. nice job i guess. uh 3rd movie alright, wouldnt mind watchig another. richard thought it was a piece of shit except “her nipples looked like pink marshmellos” yes richard they did….so on and so forth the movie sucked balls but it was good :D

  43. The movie was cool i did enjoy it but the camera work did suck but if they wanna do part 3 then so what let them do it they are going to pay for it not us so if you didn’t like the second one don’t watch the third one.

  44. The movie was really great in action scenes and violence. Also so much better than the first film. I know some of ya’ll hated RE2 but it was really a good movie in my own oppinion and am waiting to see part 3 if they decide to make it.

  45. ok kiddies its time to stop playing the i’m right your wrong game. people liked the movie and some didn’t, get over it. personaly i thought the second film was better than the first because it gave a more in touch feel with the games. but yes the director did screw the pooch by making all the shit so twisted, first off, i love ,milia but why was she there this movie should have been about chris, jill, barry, etc. and it was messed up when the nemesis turned kinda good….he was a kill plain a simple leave him that way. movie would have been better if they stuck to the games, but i still liked them…oh yeah and where the hell is wesker!!! he was a pimp in the game i mean come on you leave out one of the coolest guys?

  46. hehe, Milla is cool in RE1+2 and her voice is in the german version nice too. It?s funny that her own speech isnt better that synchro.

So i like anything on her. Only her breasts or to small :)

  47. Resident Evil 2 was a really kick ass movie and part 3 if it comes out will deffinitly be amazing. i thought the acting special effect and all that were great. Also i believe they followed some what of the story line cuz if they followed it by the game then you would know what happens and then that be gay but for now peace..

  48. What balls would those be? Comon, really.. If you have played the game, you know the movies go with them in no way shape or form, the whole thing was more like a… All action, no storyline, it was weak, face it ya damn jabrony..

  49. I think that Resident evil 2 was the best one out of the two…I hope they think about making a RE:3 because the fans and zombie movie lovers will rave about the 3rd Resident Evil.

  50. Alright, in all seriousness… Carnivore, you are a moron.. You say we should play at least one game? Alright, let me school you kid. First thing, why the hell was Nicholi young? And Carlos old? Who is Peyton? Why the FUCK is Omar Opps in the movie at all? And where does Milla Jovich get off killing Nemesis? THAT IS JILL’S KILL! And yes, why is Jill such a whimp? One more thing, instead of car baracades, why the hell are there 100 foot, straight steel walls? Answer me that, you get a gold star, and yes, I have played, and beat the whole Resident Evil series.

  51. I think this is one freakin good movie and the people who say diferent I think have never even played the games so before saying the movie sucks they should play at least one game out of the RE series. The only thing what I do think is bad about the movie is that they changed parts of the storie from the game. WHERE THE HELL IS LEON AND CLAIRE??? or Barry =(

  52. if u didnt like the game or played the game resident evil of coz u dont like it, yes the story was kinda crap and doesnt really link to the game… ashford died like 10 years before the bio hazard out break.
well the first movie was alright but this one kinda suk… could have been better… way better
i mean like the whole UBCS was wipe out other then they 3 guys (which one turned in to a zombie)
but comon… if u played and pass the game…. u will love the see it in movie and retell the story which u have been in (games).

  53. the film isnt stupid at all, it is amazing!!!, now as i were u id go fuck urself up the ass, u moron

Normally I would delete a comment like this one… But I think I should leave this one up as an example of an idiot with such a limited intellectual capacity that they can’t grasp the concept of disagreeing with other people’s opinions about MOVIES without resorting to 5 year old behavior.

This site is all about opinions, it’s all about dialogue, it’s all about disagreeing‚Ķ but infantile inbred jackasses like “CR” seems to take it as a personal affront if you dare disagree with them and makes the site less fun for everybody. I wonder if the rest of his social skills are as inept.

  54. campea, are u crazy??????????? everything you said about the movie is complete bullshit, it was the exact opposite of what you said, it is an amazing film, the acting is perfect, story, did u even pay attention to the film, of course there was a story, the directing was perfect too, the dialog is cool, the action was amazing!! the camera work was perfect, and the film isnt stupid at all, it is amazing!!!, now as i were u id go fuck urself up the ass, u moron

  55. Personally i really liked the movie yes i agree about the rotten camera movements and hope in resident evil 3 there will be better camera movement i cant wait to see what they have in store for us next!!! Milla’s best movie was the 5th element!!

  56. Why’d they make Jill to be such a wimp, She kicked ass in two games but needs alice to save her ass in the movie? Hah, I didn’t really care for the movie but my company liked it. The best part in the movie belonged to Mike Epps at the beginning, I should have left after that but I was hoping for more zombie strippers. The Camera work was REALLY sloppy and they totally ripped off Code Veronica.

  57. I will accept none of this bad talk about my future wife. (i am certain once she divorces anderson, i will be famous enough to get her).

and you know what? can’t wait for RE:3, I can’t get enough brainless action, the less talk the better.

bring on the explosions and tiny outfits, because that my friends, is what dreams are made of.

  58. Another tidbit of trivia- she has 6 toes on one of her feet. You can see it in a shot in Dazed and Confused when she’s sitting in a chair in Pickford’s bedroom when the beer guy shows up early.

  59. I loved Milla is 5th Element. One of my favourite films.

Little tidbit of trivia, Milla made up the “ancient language” entirely on her own. When she was babbling, there were only a few phrases that were required for the script “ecto gamut” and her name were about it.

    Moooooti-pass!

Yeah, she knows its a MultiPass!

    Sigh

  60. I really enjoyed this movie… and all the people I talked to after the movie liked it too.

No, the acting and the script wasn’t that great… but I found the action and the zombie-killing fun and enjoyable.

And yes, I am glad there might be a sequel. =)
