Yesterday we posted a teaser clip from Quentin Tarantino’s next big project Inglorious Basterds.
Well, as promised today we get to see the official Trailer.
This is not a remake of the Italian film of the similar name (Inglorious Bastards) nor is it a remake of the Dirty Dozen as some have assumed. This simple plot comes from the twisted mind of Tarantino himself.
This looks like it will measure up to every word of Brad Pitt’s speech. It looks to have a LOT of brutal violence in it (which is always forgivable when doing it to Nazis apparently) I have always been luke warm on Tarantino. He isn’t as flawless as I think most people give him, but this does look interesting if only to have some violent escapism at the hands of Godwin’s law.

Pitt is a great actor; Tarantino is very hit & miss nowadays (Deathproof? YYYYYYawnnnnnn). Yet, I’m really not sure what “awesomeness” was involved in this trailer. Quite frankly it looks like a direct to video trailer with the exception of Pitt distractingly over-acting in it. Also, every time I look at Eli Roth I see Eli Roth – director of Hostel(s), not Eli Roth – Nazi hunter; also pretty distracting. This looks like a netflix rental for now.
I been waiting for Tarantino to direct again for so long. This movie looks lika lot of twisted fun. Can’t wait

And I am one of those guys who pretty much classifies Tarantino as flawless, his last film (Death Proof, or the whole Grindhouse film) was one of my favorite films form that year! And I watch over and over Kill Bill
Its not that Brad couldn’t fit this role, its the way he’s playing or the way they have him playing it that throws me off. Either his accent or his macho tough guy lieutenant act just seems way too put on. The way he says, I want my scalps with that bit of a smile or the fact that it sounds like he’s reciting a speech just makes him look silly. I think he’d be much more suited to do the calm stern lieutenant, or a more Jamie Foxx Jarhead style lieutenant. Thoughts?
i agree the trailer looks cool and all but something about brads monologue throws me off the more i watch it….idk why tho, seems odd it all
i’m interested in seeing this movie, nothing like watching a good B-exploitation movie. i’m curious to see what sort of fetish QT digs up.
I see a haters bitching on QT & Pitt, but these haters are the same guys that said Heath Ledger was an awful choice for Joker over a year ago…
My point: If you don’t like QT or Pitt, then you shouldn’t even be critiquing the trailer. Just don’t waste your time or money on this.
If you’re a fan of either gentlemen, you were already in before you saw the trailer.
If you are indifferent or on the fence; relax. It’s not like there is a shortage of movies coming out Summer of 09.
I can’t wait for this flick which looks like violent fun as only Tarantino can deliver. Pitt’s accent continues to sound over the top, but I think it is more of a director call and for we know he’s only over the top with the accent in that one scene.
I like it. All of it. Don’t understand the “Nay-Saying”… but we all have our own points of view, I guess.

QT is overhyped in my eyes, but I like his stuff. Having said that, I’m not a massive Pitt fan, and his stuff in the trailer…I don’t know if it’s the accent or what, but he’s not doing it for me here. Other than that, it looks interesting at the very least.

I am a little surprised not to see any of the usual unique visual styles that Tarantino usually employs, but I think the premise sounds like amazing fun with high potential for some excellent gore.

It’s more than likely an easy way for him to get the word on movie posters as well as T.V. without having to have it Censored. (i.e. what happened to Kevin Smith on “Zack and Miri Make a Porno”)

Roth’s part was supposed to be played by Adam Sandler, but he had other commitments. I guess Tarantino wanted the part to be played by someone Jewish, and other than Harvey Keitel, who else in his stable of actors is?
