Johnny Depp As Mad Hatter

Thanks to the good people over at comingsoon it looks like we have a first look of Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter. Check it out –

Mad Hatter

I like this look. He looks like a crazy man with a fantastic hat and ridiculous clothes. I think a character like this should be the opposite of subdued, and we have ourselves here a hatter that’s outlandish.

Thank you to the Live Show chat friends for making me aware of this!

  1. That is the most ridiculous thing ever… I am not going to be seeing this movie if the mad hatter looks like a women who has been strung out on PCP for three weeks… Jeezus Christ…

  2. Well… When I saw it I thought he looks like a mix of Sweeney and Willy W. ( it’s no wonder- the same director, the same make-up)) Of course I mean apperance/
But it makes me joy! Really, I like J.D. in all images! He looks like a real Mad Hatter in original book ( in my imagination he’s the same!)

  3. This pic is on the front of some local newspapers here in the Plymouth area. Just because some extra work was filmed here they treat the film like its local news.

  4. Even though I wasn’t the biggest fan of Edward Scissorhands, I like Johnny Depp as an actor.

I wonder if they’re considering him to be Joker in the next Batman if the story calls for the Joker

  5. HE IS SO FREAKIN’ HOT!!!! I’LL STILL TAP THAT!!!!!
THE BUNNY GIVES HIM A SENSITIVE SIDE!!!!!!
    I CAN’T WAIT TILL THIS MOVIE COMES OUT……..I<3 MR.DEPP.
TIM BURTON IS MY FAV. DIRECTOR!!!!!

  7. If this is seriously how the mad hatter looks in the film, I might just cry. I really hate how Burton gets away with blatantly pandering to the hot topic crowd with this type of bullshit. I can’t believe this man is being allowed to rape one of my childhood favorite books.

  8. Woa, now there’s a Scissorhands flashback if I ever saw one. Anyway, if I were to judge the new hatter from this lone photo alone, a thing I after several similar goofups I promised myself I’d never do, but I never learn anyway, he doesn’t look all that constantly raving mad (as a hatter) as I’ve always considered the hatter to be. Could be he’s just a bit more explosively weird though, or that we’ve caught him in an odd normal(ish) seeming moment there.

  9. I THINK THAT HE’S GONNA BE GOOD. HE AND TIM BURTON ALWAYS HAVE MOVIES TOGETHER. SO, YEAH. HE’LL BE PRETTY SCRAY TOO. WHENEVER HE GETS THAT DARK MAKEUP ON HE’S SCARY.

  10. Johnny Depp and Tim Burton I think are outgrowing each other in both style and content. Burton’s works are continually getting worse and unoriginal, while Depp is still clinging to the Pirates fortune.
