It appears that all assault charges against Christian Bale have been dropped, and no further investigations will take place. We get the following scoop from CNN:
Batman star Christian Bale will not face charges relating to an alleged assault last month on his mother and sister, prosecutors said Thursday, suggesting their decision was based in part on the family members’ wishes. Christian Bale’s mother accused him of assault the night before the London premiere of “Dark Knight.”
Britain’s Crown Prosecution Service said there was insufficient evidence to afford a “realistic prospect of conviction,” and ordered police not to take any further action.
The service said in a statement that while it “treats all incidents which take place in a domestic context seriously, it is important that the views of complainants are also taken into account when making decisions in such cases.”
Well this is good news indeed. When I first heard the accusations I had images of Bale hitting his family members with a pipe. He doesn’t look like the kind of guy that would do such a thing, so I was certainly thrown for a loop. Cooler heads on the boards suggested that perhaps it was just verbal assault, but we were in the dark.
Gladly the incident has rolled over, Bale and his family wisely kept mum on the issue, and now the news will fade fast into oblivion.

He was with his mom and sister, that’s domestic violence anyway you look at it. I doubt he did anything though, he seems pretty level headed. I hear his mom and sister have their own issues though.
its stupid because its a domestic violence charge for assault but he doesnt even live with his sister or mother so who gives a shit…its still considered domestic but still…

I am sure Bale is very annoyed, by his mother and sisters actions to report him because of a very personal and heated arguement…
It’s been widely reported, here in the UK, that neither Bale’s mother or sister brought any charges, and in any case it was never a physical assualt.
That, of course, doesn’t make for juicy celeb dirt, so let’s hope Bale & his family were able to remain sane throughout this episode.

Eh. What I read….from all the silly tabloids was that Bale’s mom was insulting his wife. Bale stood up for her. Guess they got loud and the police were called.
What I like is everytime they mention Bale’s mom they say….Jenny Bale, a clown,……cuz she is a professional clown!!!
It was an argument, his mom and sister probably got mad because they didn’t ‘win’ the argument so they decided to lie about it, that in itself is pretty messed up.

I don’t believe for one minute that he assaulted anyone and how on earth did he “mess up his family?” It was an argument. Where’s the evidence that Bale did something wrong? An accusation seems to be all it takes to destroy someone’s reputation these days!
Thank God this sensational crap is over! It’s too easy these days for people to just accuse somebody of something without cause and then it just forms a life of its own in the media.
So I think that’s messed up. You’re all relieved that the charges have been dropped so he can get on with making you all more entertainment? Screw the fact that he may or may not have assaulted his family. I hope just as much as you that he didn’t mess up his family, but the fact that the story is going away doesn’t prove anything about innocence or guilt.

I thought it was confirmed to be a verbal assault? I’d think if it were physical there would of been some sort of marks. And if any person has ever watched good ol’ Cops on TV…where there are marks, theres a shirtless hillbilly and he’s going to jail….no matter what.
