Broadway talents Jordan E. Cooper and Kara Young have brought their latest project to YouTube with the premiere of The Ppl Police. The new scripted micro-comedy series consists of six episodes that are now available to stream on the platform.
The series follows Cooper and Young as Ross and Pumpkin. The two friends decide to act as a community-based alternative to the police force. They navigate various domestic and neighborhood disputes throughout New York City. Each episode runs approximately five minutes and features the duo attempting to resolve chaotic situations using their own unconventional methods.
Behind the Series
Cooper created the series and serves as an executive producer through his production company, Cookout Entertainment, alongside Karynrose Bruyning. Daelight Media also provides executive production support for the project.
The release marks another milestone for Cooper, who previously made history as the youngest Black American playwright on Broadway with Ain’t No Mo’. He also holds the title of the youngest showrunner in television history for his work on The Ms. Pat Show. Young, a two-time Tony Award winner, brings her stage experience to the screen following recent appearances in projects like I’m a Virgo.
