Hulu has unveiled the official trailer for Furious, a new serial killer thriller series set to debut on the streaming platform this July. The project serves as a remake of the 1987 feature film Black Widow.
The series follows Alice Black, an FBI agent tasked with tracking down a mysterious and calculating female serial killer. As the investigation progresses, the lives of the two women begin to intertwine, complicating the distinction between right and wrong. Emmy Rossum stars as Agent Alice, while the trailer reveals that Lola Petticrew co-stars as the killer.
A New Take on a Classic Premise
Executive produced by Liz Meriwether, the series explores themes of power and control. The narrative setup draws comparisons to classic psychological thrillers, focusing on the cat and mouse dynamic between the investigator and her target. The show aims to challenge the audience by framing the killer as someone seeking righteous vengeance while maintaining her status as the antagonist.
Cast and Production
