Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne Biopic Revives Music Legend’s Story

The highly anticipated biopic about Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne is moving forward at Sony, with a director expected to be announced soon. The film will explore the iconic heavy metal legend’s relationship with his wife and manager, featuring music from Black Sabbath and Ozzy’s solo career. Despite years of development, the project has faced setbacks, including the passing of Ozzy Osbourne in 2022. However, the timing seems right for a music biopic, given the recent resurgence of interest in Ozzy’s music and the success of similar films like ‘Bohemian Rhapsody‘ and ‘Elvis.’

The biopic has been in the works since 2021, with Polygram Entertainment and Osbourne Media attached to produce alongside Sony. Lee Hall, who wrote the screenplay for ‘Rocketman,’ is still involved in the project. The film will likely require the participation of Sharon and Ozzy’s family, as well as securing the licensing rights to use Ozzy’s music.

Given the success of similar music biopics, it’s no surprise that Ozzy and Sharon’s story is being brought to the big screen. With the right direction and execution, this film could be a hit with fans of the heavy metal legend and music lovers alike.
