Kevin Feige recently gave a positive update on the return of Moon Knight and the Eternals in future MCU projects. As Marvel Studios gears up for the release of The Fantastic Four: First Steps, fans are eager to know the fate of these beloved characters. In a recent event at the Marvel Studios Burbank headquarters, Feige addressed the much-awaited return of characters like Moon Knight and the Eternals.
The Future Of The New MCU
According to Variety, reporters asked about the potential return of characters like Clea, Starfox, Hercules, and Mephisto. While Feige didn’t take the names, he stated that characters introduced post-‘Endgame’ will pop up again in some of the upcoming movies and beyond. The fun of the comics is anyone popping up anywhere.
Moon Knight, played by Oscar Isaac, is one of the most loved characters post-Avengers: Endgame among fans. He debuted in the Marvel Cinematic Universe through the Disney+ series Moon Knight, which came out in March 2022. On the other hand, the Eternals debuted in the universe through Chloé Zhao’s eponymous movie in November 2021.
Avengers Secret Wars and Beyond
At the event, Feige even unveiled how Avengers: Secret Wars will pave the way for new beginnings in the MCU. This also includes recasting some of the X-Men characters, who are returning in Doomsday and Secret Wars.
The veteran producer said, ‘We’re utilizing that [story] not just to round out the stories we’ve been telling post-‘Endgame,’ just as importantly, and you can look at the ‘Secret Wars’ comics for where that takes you, it very, very much sets us up for the future. ‘Endgame,’ literally, was about endings. ‘Secret Wars’ is about is about beginnings.
Moreover, Kevin Feige referred to it as a reset of the ‘singular timeline.’
