Coming Soon: Mark Millar’s ‘War Heroes’

Mark Millar has been selling movie spec’s left and right lately after already securing deals for his movies Kick-Ass, Superior, and The Secret Service but today we learn the latest adaptation of his work will be his story about ‘War Heros’.

Thomas Dean Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer, currently writing Doctor Strange for Marvel, are in talks to write.
The film would be about “a U.S. military experimental program, developed in light of dwindling enlistments and the expanding war on terrorism, that gives ordinary soldiers superpowers. When a rogue group of the super-soldiers breaks off to form a criminal enterprise, one hero rises from their ranks to prevent catastrophic results.”

Sounds pretty interesting and immediately made me imagine a strong jawed soldier, not unlick Aaron Eckhart’s character in Battle: Los Angeles, showing his virtue and turning against his cohorts in their dastardly scheme. A part of me almost wants to go and read up on the book to get a better idea of what may lay ahead but unfortunately for War Heroes my mind is completely arrested and completely inseperable from anything not named Arkham City. I know you guys are bigger experts in these things than I am so is it worth tearing myself away to read up on the book? Good, bad, or meh?
