Javier Bardem and Co. join Bond 23

Bond 23 is finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. The movie was held up due to financial issues that plagued MGM for a while but things started turning around and today we are finally given confirmation that the oft rumored Javier Bardem is confirmed for a role in the movie. Oh, and we also have a hot new Money Penny.

Javier Bardem and Ralph Fiennes, the former heavily tipped for a role (going so far as to reveal that he would be the villain if cast) and the latter rumored for some time, both seem to be confirmed for the film. And Miss Moneypenny, a staple Bond character who hasn’t been seen since the Pierce Brosnan films, will make an appearance as well, played by Naomie Harris.

I missed Money Penny. Well, not really as I hadn’t even realized she was gone but Naomie Harris is a sexy woman and sexying up a movie is also a welcome idea in my book. I’m kinda glad Bardem is added to the role and is probably still cast as the villain, but I have to wonder what they were thinking when they have the ultimate pinnacle of Evil in Lord Voldemort there also being cast. 2 villains maybe? working together? Bond caught in the middle? WTF is this about! Color me “intrigued”.

  1. Both are heavy & intense actors, i’m giving props for the power that be in Bond movies to dare the challenge to bring these two high quality actors into the fold. Daniel Craig definitely has to step up his game against these two.
I bet their villain type are the brains behind secret cabal organization that turning Bond’s world upside down in last two.
