Wahlberg wants more Fighter’s

The Fighter is still winding down from the Oscar fervor but that doesn’t seem to be affecting actor Mark Wahlberg’s enthusiasm or interest in returning to the character that’s currently propelling his career. Cinemablend was able to pick up a few tidbits of information where Wahlberg explains a synopsis for a sequel to the fighter:

“Now we’re gonna talk about doing No. 2. We’re gonna do the Ward /Gatti trilogy and make it real.”

The Ward/Gatti fights were some of the most impressive bouts of boxing in recent memory, but I feel like that it might be something that would only interest fans of the sport without the backstory and performance that Christian Bale delivered. It may may make for some interesting cinema similar to the Rocky movies, but what about Dicky?

  1. You see what we do here is bring in that family versus family dynamic where they search out the corruption in boxing and the Gatti’s and the Wards are to be reckoned with!

  2. Christian’s acting ability would prevail, but I don’t think his up and down body can handle too much more of it. After every Batman he goes on another extreme diet!
