Aside from the anticipation of seeing Johnny Depp returning to his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, it seems a lot of hype has been built around Ian McShane being cast as the iconic Blackbeard
Well we get our first look at McShane in full Blackbeard digs here:
While Penelope Cruz is looking like she raided Elizabeth’s pirate closet after they retired her character out of the series, Ian McShane looks awesome as Blackbeard.
McShane just owned the HBO series Deadwood, and if his Blackbeard has half the balls that Al Swearengen had on that show, we are in for one feircesome pirate indeed!

She misses Depp after he gave it to her on the set of Blow. Or she just wants a big paycheck.
Ya, I guess maybe a pirate would look a little more scruffy.
Cruz doesn’t even look like she belongs there. She raided someone’s costume warehouse that’s for sure. She should be at Mardi Gras or something.
Just out of curiosity, what do you think she should be wearing instead?
The outfit looks to well put together and clean, like she just bought it at the store or pulled it out of storage. It just makes her look lost like an easter egg or something in this scene. You have scruffy guy in the back ground, scruffy Blackbeard, a somewhat scruffy Sparrow and then a prestine looking Cruz standing next to them. Her outfit should look a little worn is all.
Looks more like grey beard to me. Or unwashed beard maybe, not blackbeard. The second pirates was the best one in my opinion. The third one was a big mess. This is a rental for me.
