Transformers 3 is Transformers: The Dark of the Moon?

So far we haven’t heard a lot about Transformers 3 aside from some set shots, a new improved and hopefully less annoying Twins, and Shia LaBeouf praising the work everyone has done, there hasn’t been anything said about the plot, or the title.

Well scratch one of those off the list, because the rumour mill is saying there is a title. Transformers: The Dark of the Moon

IGN Shares:

The folks at Seibertron.com and TFW2005.com did some digging and determined that Amazon has three new books scheduled for May, 2011, with this moniker as part of their titles. Those workhorses at Collider.com then confirmed the title with “sources close to the production”

The name is not as leading as Revenge of The Fallen was. The die hard fans recognized The Fallen as the character in the comics (and not the Fallen Megatron)

I really hope this film knocks it out of the park. Even despite its many flaws I still love the Transformers films, and most of that will likely have to do with my nostalgia and actually seeing a “real” Transformer for the first time in my life. But I still enjoy them.

This title however is very vague and at best we can assume maybe some threat is coming from the dark side of the moon. Maybe the Decepticons are using it as their base of operations.

I am hoping for a HotRod in the next film, just because he is my favourite (and was even before he became Rodimus)

So if the rumour is true, what does that title mean to you?

To me, it just means they are not using Transformers 3… that’s all.

  1. I’d like to see Omega Supreme appear in part 3. The news of filming at NASA Space Shuttle tells me that Michael Bay might be filming Omega Supreme there.

  2. Please bring in Ultra-Magnus, that would be freaking awesome. He has this viking-vibe to him plus the name and the way he acts (he dosn’t want to be the leader but he damn sure can lead) would make him a great rolemodel for all us swedes :D

I can see it now. Kids in Sweden being interviewed by the news going:
“I wanna be like Ultra-Magnus when I grow up”

  3. Sounds like its a reference to Unicron! The Dark of the Moon…the only moon I can think of that would be worth mentioning, that would be a great villain, is Unicron.

The Fallen hinted at the character, the Dark of the Moon does the same.

    Unicron

  4. The Dark of the Moon? Unicron is practically a planet by himself…what if he approached from the dark side of the moon? Hmm. I doubt they’d bring in Unicron. Assuming the Transformes franchise continues beyond TF3, where do you go after Unicron steps in?

On a related point, I was SO disappointed in Devastator. Not his design so much as how poorly he was used in the storyline, and how easily he was taken apart by that annoying Twin. I REALLY hope TF3 get right; make the Transformers appear stronger/sturdier than paper mache.

    1. Uhh idk what ur talkin bout. But you need to rewatch Revenge of the Fallen again cuz dat Twin did very little damage (if any) to Devastator. He was actually taken apart by the huge rail-gun on the Navy battleship
