Fan Expo 2010 Report – The Costumes

Fan Expo is over for another year and I am going to offer a series of posts that share our experiences there for those who missed it, or just those hoping to see their pictures up here! Careful, this is not a dialup friendly gallery as there are a LOT of pictures.

One of the great things about Fan Expo is the costumes. Granted there are some that just make your brain hurt (boy in full Catwoman leathers for instance) but for the most part the efforts and craftsmanship put into these costumes is nothing short of impressive. As usual, I didn’t even know who some of these were, but they were all very impressive.

Each person that came by our booth was given a TMB Postcard with the promise that their pictures would likely show up on the site. So here’s hoping your picture made it (some didn’t because they blinked or didn’t turn out well, but only very few) Check them all out here!

Superman

Spiderman

Harley Quinn and … something.

Age appropriate Last Airbender kids!

Not sure what these were, but they were very well done (and shes very pretty!)
I am now told that this is Monarch and Dr Girlfriend from Venture Bros!

Awesome Huntress Costume Very detailed.

Disney folk. The Red Queen girl was in full Disney Park friendly mode talking to some kids. Was very classy.

Two guys I couldn’t identify because of a hot Final Fantasy Rikku

Very Cool Plasticman. Even his hair was plastic like.

Bioshock Big Daddy.. er… Mommy?

Hot Robin

These girls were promoting Importfest. Still wondering what this has to do with Fan Expo, but stopped caring when I saw the booth babes.

Asajj Ventress and Obi-Wan Kenobi

Super cute Junior Justice Leaguers. Mini Hawkgirl and Mini Wonder Woman.

My half brother Zaphod Beeblebrox. He shares three of the same mothers as me.

Leeloo and someone really angry.
I am told angry guy is Travis Touchdown from the videogame series “NO MORE HEROES” on the Wii

If Hatter were a girl…

Slave Leia and Dad. This got weird.

Julie Newmar looking Catwoman. Would more of you come to the booth next year if she was a boothbabe?

Some Ghostbusters. This guy’s gun shot sillystring. Awesome.

The Guild’s Codex Avatar

Jones the Senior

They were cute. I lost their card.

These guys are in a comic book.

Two Face and a Batman made entirely of Duct Tape.

A hot Cruella Deville before the 3 packs a day and anorexia.

Just a hot outfit. She designs them. And looks great in them.

Silent Bob – He even did the routine and didn’t speak a word to me. Awesome.
I forwarded this to Propworx.com and they assure me that this photo will end up in Kevin Smith’s hands!
If anyone knows this awesome cosplayer, please have him Email me

Perfect Gwen Stacey. I swooned.

This schoolgirl apparently had a secret. I had a camera.

Another Slave Leia. And bravery points for actual authenticity. No safetynet gitch there!

Batgirl, Supergirl, Wonder Woman and The Question! Excellent detail!

Really cute, really pink. Was this just cute or from a show? Do you care?

Awesome R2D2 hat.

Sexy Bunny and Spider-Man

Superhot Trekkie girls. Set looks to Stun.

Amy and The Doctor

Scarlet Witch

Elaborate Goth girl, and Link.

Catwoman and a Pretty girl (not sure where its from, but it looked great)

x-23 and White Queen – Hard to see but White Queen’s skin was all glittery.

Check out White Queen’s eyes!

Scorpion tried to get past without a picture.
I told him “Get over here” before I realized who I just said it to.

Deadpool and Catwoman

Charlie Chaplin (not Hitler)

Jack Skellington and Sally

From the game Bayonetta. Very hot costume very well put together.

Lara Croft is always a con favourite!

Catwoman

A very visible Invisible Woman and Ms Marvel

Girl Deadpool complete with oversized Liefeld-esque gun … and TMB writer Dan.

Booth Babe Liz and a Wookie. We were arranging a kiss…

Dan with the Spartacus gang doing time with Booth Babe Liz. I hear they are dating now.

Dan and some Stormtroopers

Dan and Liz found even more Stormtroopers

Liz meets Master Chief

Some Steampunk

Joker Nurse

She Hulk

Mad Hatter!

There were so many amazing costumes, and we tried to get a lot of them but this is only a small sampling of what was actually at the event. Our booth was practically hidden, so we didn’t get the chance to snag more! These brave enthusiasts even walked about in public to the odd looks of Torontonians and tourists alike. True dedication to their hobby. Awesome work guys!

As people give me updates to the costumes I didn’t recognize, I am updating the post. Thanks.

  1. Hey Rodney, on the photo titled “Leeloo and someone really angry”, that really angry dude is Travis Touchdown from the videogame series “NO MORE HEROES” on the WII.

    1. “Leeloo and someone really angry”

No More Heroes is one of my favorite Wii games so I instantly reconized him. It’s actually a pretty good costume.
And not so sure if that one pic was the Doctor and the Master. I think it was the 9th Doctor and the 11th Doctor.

    1. Why is that funny? Superman and Batman have the highest respect for each other and at times team up to take down and fight evil and injustice. Superman is clearly supporting his long time friend fellow superhero. I’m sure Batman would do the same. I would expect to see the Dark Knight pick up the latest issue of Action Comics at a a local Gotham City comic book store.

    1. That’s great. I am adding the information I missed as people let me know.

I just checked out the game trailer on youtube, and the game looks like a lot of fun. This girl was as sexy as the character in the game.

      1. Yup, Bayonetta is just awesome, it’s fun, take no prisoner, tongue in cheekinesh game with very hot and very british protagonist. It got good review form many game critics

  2. The pokemon photo, you said it’s of Misty and May, it’s actually Misty and Dawn. It’s the female trainer from Diamond and Peal, May is from Ruby and Sapphire. Haha, Pokedork here. And the one of Jack Skellington, you have ‘Corpse Bride’ but it’s actually Sally.

I was expecting a lot of photos but not quite so many. And surprisingly a whole lot of good ones. I’ve never been to one of these so I’m always impressed by their costumes.

  3. Picture #5 is the Monarch and Dr. Girlfriend. You should check out the Venture Bros. I don’t love the show like some people, but I do like it, and the Monarch is one of the funniest characters on TV.
