From director Alexandre Aja (The Hills Have Eyes) comes the new action thriller PIRANHA 3D. Every year the population of sleepy Lake Victoria explodes from 5,000 to 50,000 for Spring Break, a riot of sun and drunken fun. But this year, there’s something more to worry about than hangovers and complaints from local old timers; a new type of terror is about to be cut loose on Lake Victoria. After a sudden underwater tremor sets free scores of the prehistoric man-eating fish, an unlikely group of strangers must band together to stop themselves from becoming fish food for the areas new razor-toothed residents. The film stars Jessica Szohr (Gossip Girl), Steven R. McQueen (The Vampire Diaries), Elisabeth Shue, Jerry OConnell, Ving Rhames, Adam Scott, Richard Dreyfuss, Christopher Lloyd, Adam Scott, and Kelly Brook.
I’m definitely watching this one. It looks like mindless, campy fun. Reminds me a little bit of when I was a kid and saw Jaws; I didn’t want to get near anything with water; not even the bathtub Lol. I know this movie won’t have the same effect again, but it looks entertaining. I like the poster. It’s a “right in your face” style poster. Yet, it’s nothing wow. One thing comes to mind…enough with the 3D! Do you think they could’ve fit one or two more 3D’s in the poster? Lol.

I really want to see this when it comes out. Since KNB is doing the effects it looks like it should be filled with some nice, old school special FX. I was just a little bummed when they pulled this movie out of April and moved it to August.
