A Nightmare on Elm Street Trailer Online

Yesterday we posted a bootlegged TV Spot, but now today we get a full trailer for the remake of the classic 80s horror franchise A Nightmare on Elm Street.

Remakes might automatically get a bad rap, and its hard to over come that but this is actually looking really good to me.

I like that we get to hear Jackie Earl Haley’s voice as Freddy. He sure looks the part, but they could make me look like Freddie with the makeup magic in Hollywood. The voice is different, but still a bit snarky and a lot haunting.

“Why are you screaming? I haven’t even cut you yet”

I am glad they are holding on to the sarcastic side of Freddie while he torments and murders teenagers. And the claws in the bathtub scene is a classy nod to the original.

  1. YES! Man this looks so good. I am so glad they went with an even darker tone this time around and Freddie’s wise cracks are just perfect.

I’m also very happy to see that they are playing even more with the whole dream thing. More as in, you can’t fall asleep and dream or your fucked, but if you don’t get sleep and dream, you’ll basically go crazy. You’ll start seeing things, dreaming while your awake. In which case, your fucked anyway. ;P

  2. After watching this trailer, Im most definitely excited to see it now! Keeping the sarcastic remarks is the best! I cant wait to see Jackies performance. After watching Little Children, I know just how good Jackie can be at creepy. Cant Wait!

  3. His lips/mouth seem funny but that’s just a fanboy nitpick..

    Jackie RULES!
and theres a couple of obvious nod’s and that’s cool, I just hope they dont Rob Zombiefy this till it blows, like………

    1…2….Freddy’s coming for you

  4. I’m underwhelmed. I don’t think it looks horrible, but like a lot of other remakes, unnecessary. Still, I’ll give it a chance cause I want to see Jackie Earl Haley’s performance.

  5. I was a huge fan of the original series, am a huge fan of JEH (anybody remember him in Nemesis?) and this remake looks fantastic. Maybe a little darker, a lot of nods to the original, and a nice update to the look. (Superfan? I had the “Freddy’s Greatest Hits”, and smiled when I heard “All I have to do is dream” in the trailer.)

    1. I guess because it IS Rorschach. It’s not like a persons voice changes much at a lower, raspy tone. I’m sure his portrayal of Freddy will overshadow any likeness to Rorschach.

  6. I say this movie is turning about to be really something. Just like last years version of Friday The 13th I hope a better story is invovled with not as much of the sexual content like in the other films in the series. It would be nice if they don’t include ant cheesy or corny one liner or endings.

  7. Look, i’m not going to lie, I like Jackie Earle Haley as Freddy…but this movie doesn’t look great beyond him being cast as Freddy. The movie looks like the formula crap that Bay & Bruckheimer put out with all their horror remakes. When you get a good director to do a remake, you get something out of it. Like Scorsese doing the Departed or Cronenberg with the Fly or even Carpenter with The Thing. I’m not convinced…
