French Alvin and the Chipmunks Squeakquel Poster Online

There is a new poster out for Alvin and the Chipmunks 2: The Squeakquel and I can’t help but be completely distracted by nostalgia and the power of the cute.

This time the poster is intended for the French market overseas… or Canada.

Maybe its just me being a dad, but I love that my kids get to be exposed to the Chipmunks just as I did at their age. The movie was adorable, and had moments of pure charm, which make me look forward to a sequel.

However I am a little bit disturbed when they try to make the girly chipmunks “sexy”. That just doesn’t sit right with me at all.

  1. Alvin and the chipmunks are as funny today as yesterday, I dont necessarily like the overly cute look cause we all know that they were…well a couple of clowns try to cause trouble. So they could lay off the cuteness factor a tad, I know they are trying to sell cuteness but those two were a couple of troublemakers. Goofy and meddlesome not cute and cuddly.

  2. Wow, I thought the first film was painfully bad (pure charm?) to each their own I guess. You do know that your kids can be exposed to the Chipmunks through the original cartoon, right? It doesn’t have to be in a theater with a “super cool” pop soundtrack and CGI to be fun (hell, this film had all three and still wasn’t any fun…. To me at least).

I’m sure many children do love it though.

Their attempt to create sexy little girl (or any other age/gender combination) Chipmunks is very creepy.

    1. You do realize those cartoons we watched as a kid had the same “super cool” pop soundtrack and each and every episode featured another popular song of that time being sung by the Chipmunks.

This is just more relevant to my kids. They do like my old cartoons sometimes too, but they are drawn more to the updated versions.

  3. Is it me or do the chipmunks look a little bit bigger this time around?

On second thought. The pencil and the notebook make them look small but the lockers make them look big.

Random: do you think Rob Liefeld had anything to do with this poster?
