Boussman begs to take Leprechaun to the Wild West

It would seem that Darren Lynn Bousman has a dream. And that dream involves, horses, pistols and a four foot psychopathic supernatural demon spawn of breakfast cereals. Yup, the Saw 2-4 and Repo! Director wants to take the Leprechaun franchise into the old west.

Cinematical says:

During a discussion with MTV, Darren Lynn Bousman, the man behind Repo!, wishes he could follow the rainbow. “I would do Leprechaun in a second. If Lionsgate is listening, give me Leprechaun.” But he wouldn’t get too serious with the material if given the chance to reboot it: “It’s just one of those fun popcorn movies. I would love to bring back the fun popcorn movie — extreme violence, extreme absurdity — but make it fun.” His idea of fun — the little bugger in the old west with gold and gun fights.

Yeah, because after five Leprechaun movies with locations varying from standard modern times to Space and even “tha hood” what we REALLY need is Leprechaun in the Wild West.

I have never been a fan of this series as it doesn’t even deserve the B Cult status that it seems to have. But if they do it, please make sure its Warwick Davis who is gouging your lucky charms and not some sad Verne Troyer vehicle. If you are going to mash the franchise into obscurity, at least keep the same guy instead of stunt casting MiniMe.

Could you see Boussman doing this? Would you be up for another Leprechaun movie. By anyone??

  1. Leprechaun: Back 2 Tha Hood. actually provided pop culture with a new word ya know… ‘ninja’ as a replacement for ni**a is now widely perfered by some innter city youth whod rather not use such a terrible word.
