Star Wars: Clone Wars Premiering At Hollywood Egyptian Theater

Star Wars films have a history of having their big premiere on Hollywood Boulevard here in Hollywood… but usually up the street at the historical Mann’s Chinese. This one will be up the road a bit at it’s cousin theater… the beautiful Egyptian theater. Yahoo News gives us this:

The animated tale “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” will have its world premiere at the Egyptian Theatre along Hollywood Boulevard on Aug. 10, five days before it opens in theaters. Lucasfilm announced the premiere Wednesday.

The tickets are only available to American Cinematheque until July 23rd and then after that (if there are any tickets left), tickets will be available to the general public.

I’ve never attended a Star Wars premiere in my life (Ok ok ok, this isn’t a REAL Star Wars movie… but still) and I fully intend to be at this one. You’ve got to understand, my earliest childhood memory is of my mom taking me to see Star Wars as a child, and I remember seeing images of the big premiere at the Chinese theater. Yeah… I’m not going to miss this.

  1. i don’t know but i actually want to see it. i’m pretty sure another film was made between 2 and 3, an animated one. Or….it could be between 1 and 2. Either way we know whats coming. so was this film
    needed?

  2. Wasn’t a star war animated film already made that takes place between eps 2 and 3…I thought that was a clone wars movie, was I wrong? What time frame is this movie suppose to take place in?

  3. Sorry John, nothing against you but this film looks pretty insulting to me. After seeing the trailer today with Hellboy2, I was upset that not only is this film a mindless jedi orgy of volience, that frankly we’ve seen before with the same charaters, same light saber battles, same sound effects, same tired everything we also get the same script dialog.
Watch the trailer again, allmost every line is a line out of the last 6 films. This is shit !!!

Lucas must be laughing his ass off that people just keep coming back no matter what.

The title gives away this insult as this film is a clone film of “attack of the clones”. There’s no way I’m wasting a dime on this POS!

Come on everyone there’s still time to do a sequel to “Return of the Jedi”. Screw this over voilent kidddy cartoon BS !!
    (Don’t support this crap)

John, keep in mind I was there in 77 standing in line for 2 hours, second week it came out. During that summer I watched “A New Hope” 11 times. I’m a big fan of Star Wars ,,!
