For those of you who do not know, ReBoot was an animated series that started in the late 90s in Canada. The show revolved around the inner workings of a computer. All the players were sprites, programs, bits and bytes. And the badguy was a virus. It was made by Mainframe Entertainment who’s founders had their humble beginings in a little music video for Dire Straits called Money for Nothing.
The show had a huge following but most people didn’t even know it existed in the US. Season three ended the show just as Nick Jr picked it up in the states to air the seasons. The slight boost in popularity and the fan outcry had the unaired 4th season released as two Movies. My Two Bobs and Daemon Rising.
Thanks to the efforts of Zeroes2Heroes.com a comic book was released on the next generation of Reboot, which Rainmaker Entertainment intends to make into another movie. With any luck this will revitalize a new TV series.
The last television episode of ReBoot aired in November of 2001 with a cliffhanger episode that left viewers wanting more. Through websites and online forums, die-hard fans continued to speculate, predict and in some cases fictionalize the next chapter in the ReBoot story.Fast forward to 2007. Rainmaker Entertainment teamed with Zeros 2 Heroes Media to give ReBoot fans the power to decide which of five new concepts have the most merit. Over four weeks, thousands of comments, ratings, blog posts and votes poured in.
I have a lot of passion behind this project. Last summer at FanExpo in Toronto, I had a quick sit down with one of the creators of ReBoot, Gavin Blair who was absolutely overwhelmed at the fan reaction to his book, The Art of ReBoot. Even at the Masquerade competition the Reboot team won the ensemble cast.
This show just had so much charm and light humour that made it perfect for kids and adults alike. The constant pop culture references and lingo based on computer terminology made every line and every scene something you looked forward to.

Lata, if you visit Rainmaker.com (the owners of Reboot) you will see that the Revival will be a next generation of Reboot. Daemon most certainly will not be involved.
When is the ReBoot film sequel coming out!!! I love ReBoot and I speculate Daemon will return, with help from Megabyte, yet Hexidecimal will come back and stop them, and in the process Bob will die!
Late 90’s not 80’s Rodney!!!
Oops forgot to delete. I loved Reboot and I still have most of them on VHS somewhere. Maybe I will pop them in today to relive some old times. I loved Glitch I wanted that so badly. The idea of the Game dropping out of nowhere was awesome.
Think about the graphical update the new show will bring… 7 years is ridiculous amount of time in computer technology
And both this show and Beast Wars were created by Mainframe Entertainment.
Which was bought out by Rainmaker.
It was pretty big in the US as far as Im aware, all the kids i knew, and know now as grown ups reguard the show as a classic.
and this show was pretty cool even before I was even into computers.
This show and Beast wars were the two CG cartoons I liked.
i dont think this show would work any more, they would need to try really hard to impress with the cgi other wise people will think it looks sillly
Bring back Mike TV. He was annoying, but that was the point.
We had this show in the US and it actually was pretty big. Came on every Saturday morning. I loved this shit. That cube would drop down and the game would start. I loved it.
This is way off topic, but shouldn’t this site be bragging about how it’s covering the MTV Movie Awards tonight?
I HATED THIS CARTOON man i could not get over how cheezy it was….but i think its because i was allready to old at the time to like cartoons as much as i did when i was a kid….sometimes shows are not for every one…i think i wasnt attracted with the style of design they where using.
Speaking of Megabyte, they’ll have to find a replacement voice sadly. The great Tony Jay passed away some time ago.
This got pretty big in the UK. I used to have a Mighty Max style toy of megabytes head. It was cool
