Queen Latifah Suing over Cameo Role

Queen Latifah has sued a production company behind Perfect Holiday (which Latifa produced) because of her extra cirucular activities on the set. She made a cameo appearance in the film which she feels entitled to be paid for, and they didn’t.

Cuz Yahoo has caves:

a lawsuit filed in Manhattan federal court the California-based company, Perfect Christmas Productions, had breached her contract and owed her $275,000 for a cameo role in the film.

I gotta say I like Queen Latifah when she is playing someone genuine. However a lot of her roles are over the top zany crazy types that I have little patience for. I genuinely liked her in Last Holiday, and in most interviews I find her extremely charming and enjoyable.

All this suing going around I find it hard to figure out who to root for! Was she contracted for two jobs? Producing and Acting (cameo)? Or was the cameo something that came later and she decided she wasn’t compensated for it? Did the production company assume she was doing the cameo in the film she was producing just for fun? (It happens!)

Bleh. I just don’t know anymore.

I think I might just sue them all over the distress they are causing me.

  1. Wait. Wait. Your suing for this? C’mon Queen. Not for this. Sue a movie production company that made 300 million in profit not for a movie that made barely made 5 mill.

  2. Technically she produced, so her money is involved. It means she gets paid first from the profits.

But she is suing the production company (not the producers) who pays the actors because she didn’t get paid for her cameo.

One paycheque is for producing, but she didn’t get the paycheque for acting.
