Uwe Boll vs Billy Zane: Deathmatch!!

Ok, its not really a deathmatch. The only true genius in movie history has taken shots at just about every respectable name in Hollywood and just keeps on going. This time he is kicking up a shitpile at Billy Zane. But this time it isn’t just to call him names in a sound bite, he is actually taking him to court!

Boll claims that he’s owed around $700,000 in revenue from his big floppity flop Bloodrayne. He says that Zane suggested Romar Entertainment handle distribution, he promised the film would open in 2,000 theaters, and that a $10 mil advance from Boll would be used to promote the flick. He goes on to say that almost a million bucks was paid to Zane and Romar’s James Schramm, and the movie opened in only 950 theaters. Perhaps this doesn’t have to do with a Zane scheme, but the fact that after a budget of $25 mil, it only brought in about $4 mil worldwide.

I guess when all the dust settles and you ask yourself how you lost a ton of money you start to point fingers and eventually you investigate what went wrong. Follow the money.

When it all comes down to it, Boll seems to be blaming much of his losses on this promotion and distribution deal so thats where he is going. But when the movie loses $21mil, is a $700,000 payout really going to make that much of a difference? Sure it was the studio that backed the film that lost this money and Boll is putting the $700k back in his pocket, so it is all relative.

This is Uwe Boll! It is about the principal! He would go after him just to prove he was right. This is the man who faces his critics and says “Want to bad mouth my movies? I will punch you in the fucking head!!”

And does.

I put nothing past him. If the paper trail proves he is right, I say give the guy the money. Before he challenges you to a mudwrestling match to proove the victor!

  1. Does that mean that Bloodrayne made over 21 million dollars on DVD? I’m asking because the film got a sequel and usually films aren’t sequalized unless they actually make money.

  2. Bay can talk all he wants but if he ever runs into Boll somewhere in Hollywood, lol…

Also, Boll is so much cooler than his movies. Someone should step in and make a Uwe Boll film starring Uwe Boll. You wouldn’t even need to caricaturize him to make it absolutely hilarious.

  3. Well, he originally challenged Michael Bay to a boxing match, but Bay declined, saying that Boll was nothing but a sad little man who was just trying to get some attention. So, I guess that this was the next best thing.
