Aliens Vs. Predator – Requiem Premieres At LA Sci Fi Convention

From the folks over at MovieWeb:

The Los Angeles Comic Book and Sci Fi Convention will be the forum upon which Colin and Greg Strause present their film Aliens vs. Predator – Requiem to an audience for the first time. The two brothers will screen clips and discuss the making of the film, as well as take questions from members of the audience. This will all be happening on November 4th in the Shrine Hall at 1:00pm. The directors will even be on hand to sign autographs after the presentation is over.

There is a whole lot of optimism coming from people regarding this new Aliens vs. Predator film… probably really misplaced optimism, but it’s there nonetheless. I can’t help it… I’m one of those delusional people who thinks this thing looks like it has promise and JUST MIGHT deliver a solid fun time at the movies. I’m probably wrong and will be gnashing my teeth after watching it… but there is always hope. I might make a trip down to LA to see this… the whole convention looks like it would be fun. I should go. Anyone else going?

  1. I absolutely love the “Alien” series and of late have been collecting a lot of limited edition collector items the most recent a 1/4 scale bust of the Alien Queen from “Aliens”. I have been dying for the Aliens to finally do battle on Earth. The Alien would have to be the best creature visually concepted for a movie. The films are horror classic at their very best..

  2. ok so for me the aliens series is what im a fanboy of…..i saw aliens when my neighbor rented it in i think 87…well i was 8 and man it just srewed me up for life….well any ways i was lucky to get a chance to go to the pre screenin of the first AvP. it was fun with all the crap they do before the movie pumping us up and i met some really cool people at the pre party get together for it…..but after i watched it i was utterly sad that they made it into a kids movie…well like a lot of die hard fans of the comics..books…movies..im hoping that this is my jesus of a movie…meaning i hope it touches me in that special area =)

  3. Hated the 1st one while I liked the actors involved the story was rather simple and the action tepid at best.

Do I have hope for the second…I don’t know…with the recent rash of bad movies coming out Hollywood, I’m not expecting much…I wish studios would get directors who really understand narratives. Is it really that hard or is the system so overblown and convoluted that the chances of making a good movie are really against the odds?
